"I wish I could give Taipei 101 6 stars, simply to drown out some of the 1 and 2 star reviews I saw on Google before dining there that are absolutely ridiculous (fat in your pork belly? Uh, duh. Not knowing IPA at a Taiwanese resturant? Is that really that offensive, come on! . I had a very enjoyable experience and would love to return to try some other menu items. We were seated immediately when we walked in (we had made a reservation and when the hostess couldn't find it she quickly dropped the matter and seated us anyway and greeted shortly thereafter. Our drinks took a few minutes to come out but the waitress excused herself and explained that I had ordered a new drink and the bartender needed the extra time to get it right fine by me! In the meantime she brought water without us having to ask. Our food was great, I had steamed buns and my husband had bibimbap, both were very good! While we were waiting for our food, what I assume was the manager came to check on us to see if we had already ordered, because we had she went immediately to the kitchen to check on our food and escorted it out shortly thereafter. Everyone was super friendly, our waitress was very nice and attentive, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. There was a live band with some slow jazz playing, not interruptive whatsoever, great background music. The booth we were seated in was comfy and secluded. The tables in the middle may have been less so but they were also perfect for larger groups. There was a birthday there at the same time we were there and the band sang happy birthday to her. Although I would not claim it to be the best food I've ever eaten, it was certainly very good, great atmosphere, good service and I would go back. I'm happy to see new restaurants in the Fountain Walk area (and Novi in general , especially independently owned ones, with something new and different, and I want them to have a fighting chance before people shut them down! Thank you, Taipei 101!"
