"Living with major gluten issues, is difficult-especially when I go out to eat. I called ahead of time to ask about their GF options. I told them I was interested in a salad dish. They called the chef, got ingredients, and I called them back. They told me specifically the ingredients of the dressing and it was completely GF. When I arrived, they knew about my gluten issue and they were able to prepare my dish separately!!! I didn’t get sick. The strawberry salad and chicken was DELICIOUS. I’ll be going back! My boyfriend loved the shrimp tacos.Dietary restrictions: They went over and beyond to cook my dish separately (gluten allergy)."

"What a treat! We waited about 35 mins for a table, but enjoyed libations while we waited. I had the guava and thyme margarita and my sister had the smoky blood orange. Both were delicious despite the light pour. We really enjoyed the trio of dips and tortilla chips. The bean dip was exceptional. We also ordered the empanadas. They were tasty with the cheese being the favorite. But the crowning jewel of the meal was the cheesy birria tacos! I could write love songs about those tacos! The meat is tender and savory and the cheese is ooey gooey, the taco shell is dipped and fried to perfection. Absolute food bliss."

"We ordered their loaded potatoes, three taco special and crispy tofu salad. All were delicious. We loved that nothing was heavy in oils. Huge variety of desserts mostly made in house with no refined sugar. Everything is gluten free and organic. Soft serve ice cream is super creamy with a ton of delicious toppings. Hand scoop ice cream is coconut based. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend this place."

"This is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. I'm usually into more high end places like cowfish in north hills or midtown however the staff and service in this restaurant has sold me completely numerous times. I'm usually a 3-4 star reviewer, however when you have 3 or 4 members of the staff coming up to you looking at you, welcoming you, and greeting you its hard to give it 4 stars. The food is absolutely amazing hands down the best Mexican restaurant. If anything they should raise their prices by $2 on menu items because I'm getting wayyy to much bang for my buck! "Classic Diner with tons of options at all hours of the day! Very pleased with the eggs of Benedikt, which is a sanctuary of mine. Coffee is good, staff is friendly, and the menu is comprehensive. I am here twice for breakfast and once only for cake, this place is definitely not disappointed. "We stopped here at the beginning of our downtown Charlottesville wanderings because I hadn't eaten anything yet for the day. They have a great outdoor seating area that is pet friendly. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (and patient with one of my surly teenagers! . The margarita was spot on and I could actually taste the tequila, which is few and far between. They had Yuca Fritas, which I have been hard pressed to find on the east coast. They were not only delicious, but the serving size was HUGE for the price point. My son LOVED his tacos and had plenty of leftovers to bring back to the hotel for later. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with this dining experience and the service. I would highly recommend if you're ever in the area."

"My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary there the last 6 years. Needless to say we have ALWAYS had superb food and service no matter how we were dressed.... Sonny's establishment hires some of the finest cooks and servers and upon talking to our server last night she stated it was one of the most supportive, and caring establishments she's ever worked for. Scott and I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and Beef Carpaccio SUPERB!! We then shared the Bacon Wrapped Filet, which was cooked to order and they didn't blink twice about us sharing a meal. When we first got there it was 5:30. Restaurant was totally empty and the staff was most accommodating. We ordered a flight of their Port Selection for desert and was not disappointed in the least. Once again, our server was quick in telling us about each glass and was truly thrilled in watching us savor each glass. By the end of the evening 2 hours later the restaurant was full (Scott and I like to watch how the staff interacts with customers), and the serving staff was interacting with each of their tables and the atmosphere was delightful. We highly suggest Sonny Lubicks and do not doubt you will have the meal of your life."
