"My daughter and I were looking for something different to eat, but didn 't want a full service restaurant. While we were looking around online, we came across HCK. Since we are from TN, and we do love our hot chicken, this was what we decided on. When we got out of the car, the first thing we both said, This place smells amazing. And when we walked in the front door, we knew we were at the right place. The gentleman at the counter was super helpful, friendly, and was answering all the questions we were throwing at him. At this point, the owner walked up and started talking to us. He explained how fresh the food was, how he makes the sauce, how he builds the sandwiches, etc. We got to talking, as us from the South tend to do, and when I finish explaining what I like, how hot, the flavors I like, he suggests the After Burner as the spice lever. I said, Make it like you intended, and don 't sub anything. My kid got the tenders with the Base sauce. We got our food, I tried hers first since it was a little milder than what I ordered, and it was amazing. The sauce is on point, a little kick, but a ton of flavor. I bit into my sandwich and the blend of the sauce, the good sauce, slaw, and pickles, it was off the chart. When I say the After Burner sauce is amazing, that 's not doing it justice. The spice level is perfect with how it 's made, the kick does come in after the blast of flavor, but it 's not stupid hot. It 's just enough to say, Hey, I 'm here and I 'm going to make your nose run. But it doesn 't make you want to gasp for air, or start chugging your iced tea. It 's just the perfect blend of flavor and spice. The pickles are crunchy, this magic good sauce is something that I want on all my food, and the slaw just rounds out the whole profile. Then I took a bite of their crinkle fries. Sweet Mother of Mary!!! I don 't know what he did to make these fries, but it 's witch craft, or it 's sprinkled with crack, or both, I have no idea. But I could have made a meal out of these things all on their own. When I first picked one up, and felt how crispy they were, I was worried they may have been fried too long. Then I bit into one and these perfectly crunchy crinkles of potatoes are filled with the clouds of the heavens. So pillowy and tender on the insides and the perfect crunch on the outsides. I almost went up and ordered another round. But the sandwich is a generous portion of chicken and I was too full to eat anymore. But as full as I was, I wasn 't leaving any of these fries on my plate. When I 'm back in town, you can be damned sure I 'm coming back. One of the best hot chicken places I 've ever eaten. And I can tell you, I 've been to a lot of them all over the country. My only disappointment is I didn 't take any pictures. But it was so good, that was the last thing on my mind."
