"We were planning to eat at Ellen's Stardust Diner but saw the line wrapped around the building and decided we were too hungry to wait. Kinda glad that happened! We walked around a few minutes and found Green Apple. We went in and looked around as they were busy but there was no line. We chose a panini sandwich from behind the counter. The Mexicano. It took a little longer then expected to get it, but they were busy and I think the guy just go overwhelmed. That being said, he was very friendly and apologized for the wait. We also got fruit from the salad/fruit bar. Decent drink selection also. Prices were average and well worth it. Check out was efficient and the ladies who rang up our order were both very friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We went upstairs to eat and it was small but had plenty of seating. There were empty tables. Our food was delicious. The sandwich was a bit spicy for us, but that was on us. We read the description and saw that it would have some spice to it. The fruit was fresh and juicy. My only complaint would be the restroom. There was only one and there was a line for it. Apparently the employees have to use the same one because one employee was in there a while. I went in right after her and there was no toilet paper. Okay. But then I went to wash my hands and there was no soap! That concerned me a bit. I pray that they have a sink downstairs to wash their hands at. We would certainly go back again. It was a bit warm upstairs but they have seating out in Times Square too and we would like to sit there next time."

"Unfriendly Host Ruins Dinner! My recent visit to California Pizza Kitchen in Lake Grove, NY left me quite disappointed. As a parent of three children, including an infant, my family and I were excited to enjoy a meal together. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the lack of accommodation and poor customer service provided by the hostess.Upon arrival, we politely requested a booth with a high chair, as we wanted a comfortable and spacious seating arrangement for our family. However, the hostess seemed indifferent to our needs and proceeded to seat us next to another group of people. Concerned about potential disruptions from our rowdy kids, we kindly asked if it would be possible to be seated elsewhere. The hostess's response was far from friendly she brushed off our request and even went as far as to argue that moving us would inconvenience the server. What frustrated me even more was her unwillingness to acknowledge her mistake. It became evident that there were plenty of available seating options, yet she chose not to assist us in finding a suitable spot for our family. The bickering and lack of professionalism displayed by the hostess made what should have been an enjoyable evening a stressful and unpleasant one.As a paying customer, I expected a higher level of service and understanding. It's disappointing to encounter such an unaccommodating attitude, especially when dining with young children. A simple gesture of flexibility and willingness to accommodate could have turned this experience around.I hope that California Pizza Kitchen takes steps to ensure that their staff receives proper training in customer service and empathy. Families should feel welcome and comfortable dining at their establishments. Until improvements are made, I regret to say that I won't be able to recommend this location based on my recent experience."
