"Great spot, terrific wait staff- food meh. Drinks good, when I walked in I immediately smelled mold, looked around and could see the pucker in the ceiling. not in the back room, just the bar and center room. Very expensive. It was NYE- Eve! I hope they step up their game, could be exceptional."

"Food was good but picata was not up to snuff. Prior to this order we had marked Bucci's chicken picata the best. My bolognese twisted pasta was excellent as was the lamb meatball. Salads were excellent--all four of us agreed. Lauren our waitress was not as attentive as she could have been. Service was--we all agreed-in need of improvement."

"This is a tough place to review! I was torn between 3 and 4 stars and wish I could give 3.5. It was so hit and miss from the get go. We made a reservation, but stood at the door for at least 7 minutes before being greeted. It looked like they were understaffed for how busy they were, although not very busy, they had what looked like two or three servers for the entire restaurant, and no dedicated bartender. Our appetizer salads arrived before our drinks did. The drinks were good and the food was good, but the quality of service needs to be improved. Our server was very sweet and friendly but clearly new to the restaurant, not great at prioritizing tasks and even though I am from the industry and understand that servers need to eat when they have the chance, it dampens the experience to watch your server sit down at the bar near your table to eat her food when you are needing service. The food itself was delicious; it’s hard to go wrong with Italian food, but it was classically prepared and the portion sizes were generous. Another note to mention is the restaurant is in need of some deep cleaning. We noticed thick dust on many surfaces, stains in our menus, and the men’s bathrooms were very poorly maintained. All in all, not a horrible experience, but with so many other Italian restaurants to visit in the city we are unlikely to be back the next time we visit."

"Can’t really complain about our waiter as he was doing his best but we have been coming here for years there is always something odd w the service it’s like the bar tender/ hostess/ waiter does everything so sometimes the service is good sometimes is not. The food is decent chopped salad really good. They redesigned it inside didn’t really help there is something off about this place not cozy and the lighting is weird. It is spaced out well though. The old couple next to use clearly drank to much and was coughing all over and being obnoxious. Waiter should of stopped the drinks. We will go back in another 6 months."

"Every neighborhood should have a restaurant like this. The greeting is always warm and friendly. The food is reliably good, and portions are very large. When a dish is shared, it comes to the table already plated, which is a nice touch. The dining room is attractive, well lit, and always lively. The sole downside is the noise level, which can be clamorous in the main dining room when it's more than half full. Still, it's a treat to dine here. Wish it was open for lunch."

"I go back and forth, but land on a solid 4 stars for our experience at Giuseppe Sons. We were there in April 2023, and it appeared much of the upstairs and some downstairs was under construction. In the main room, we were greeted by many friendly staff. The large room is loud and dimly lit so be prepared. It was a very confusing mix of people some young high school age kids, some older groups of women, many family dinners, a lot of dates. All probably because this is one of the reasonable Italian restaurants in the city which brings a wide crowd. When we were first sat, we weren’t acknowledged for quite some time, but that aside the overall experience was pleasant and hence the 4.Now the food! Well executed Italian food. They delivered. Something very important They do NOT accept changes to their dishes (I asked to add more protein to a pasta that was on another dish and they would not accommodate), so just be aware of that.If you are hungry and/or have a big party, highly recommend the Chefs tasting menu for $55. Five courses, they portion it out for the table (everyone is required to participate and agree on the five dishes), and it is a substantial amount of food. Worth your money if again you’re really hungry. A la carte is also great. Highly recommend the Sunday gravy as well as the rigatoni alla vodka. The octopus appetizer was more beans and fennel than octopus but the flavor was great for what we had.Solid meal. Well executed. Will be back with the expectations on experience in mind."

"hope street pizza is a place where my family goes all the time. one of the reasons why we always come back is the pizza. it is probably my favorite pizza (although some people I have met really don't like it. I guess it's a little different than most pizza.) hope street is great for the exit, but it's also a beautiful restaurator. it has a bar and an OK Non pizza menu. I highly recommend stopping by."

"Looking for a great bagel? Looking for great coffee? Then Bagelicious is what you need! Be prepared for a tight squeeze inside this little shop, but it 's well worth it. Conveniently located directly across the street from the Ridgewood train station, this is my go to stop for a bagel and coffee when I 'm passing through or stopping in town. They not only have your standard regular and decaf, but several fresh-brewed flavors as well. Huge bagels with a great selection of spreads. Everything is fresh. Service is excellent even when they 're crazy busy. RECOMMENDED"

"in dupont circle there are a few places for falafel and hummus zorba’s is a good old school that has taken her place as a decent choice. the decor is older, but they get what they pay in the food. eating is satisfying and comfortable on the menu for nutritional needs - w for vegetarian and df for the milk free, so they both need as a vegan. suppen, salate and dips will be their smorgasbord here! white bores, kichererbsen and aubergines, lenses and tabouleh are all plentiful in suppen, dips and salates. no vegan dessert. falafel is in order here, and grape leaves are standard style. you will have to eat, but nothing to rave."
