A classic starter with succulent prawns in a tangy, creamy cocktail sauce, served on a bed of crisp lettuce.

"It was our first time eating here. It started out great, every employee was very nice. For some reason our waiter just stopped attending to us and I could hear him conversating with the tables around us. Very disappointed about my experience here. Waited forever for a refill on our drinks and food and the waiter never even bothered to ask how the food was knowing that was our first time there. First and last. Btw, the hybrid steak was very tough from it being 90% gristle. I should've known it was wrong when I was told it's kind of like a hybrid steak. Which was the waiter's recommendation btw."

"The manager and hostess that greeted us at the door were nice and we were seated promptly at a table with a great ocean view. The menu for food and wine had a great selection. The service was sub par. They forgot to bring things we ordered and disappeared for long periods of time without checking to see if we needed anything."

"This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were intrigued by the beautiful view from the dining room that we saw online. We both ordered the Crab cakes and wedge salad. The food was fantastic and our waitress went above and beyond in taking care of our table. We will definitely be returning on our next trip."

"We have visited this restaurant several times, and this was by far the worst experience. The service was okay, but the food was a disappointment. My husband's medium steak was still rare, and my chicken masala dish was unimpressive."

"This is a nice place for a special occasion. The food is very good, but the service is what keeps you coming back. The mountainside decor is unique and welcoming. Price are higher than deserved and that's the only reason for the 4 stars."

"The staff really ensured everything was ok and when the manager comes by to say hello and ensure his guest are happy, you cant go wrong. Thank you for a wonderful dinner."

"Overall, it was a great first visit and we will likely find our way there in the future. One note, which they have no control over, is that the planes taking off from the very near by PDX can get pretty noisy if you're sitting outside. Otherwise, the outside patio made for a beautiful view, and the sunset was spectacular!"

"Slow service, food came out after about 2 hours and it was VERY dry, and a 20% tip is included. This was the worst service I’ve had in a while, so being forced to pay 20% was ridiculous. No apologies, concessions, or ANYTHING offered by staff. Not even reheating our cold, dry entrees. (Not raw seafood, by the way."

"You are paying for the view. That’s it. Server was good. The prime rib was not great. They grilled it on each side? Not how prime rib is cooked. Mashed potatoes which I normally love, I took 3 bites. That was enough. The food was fine but at $50 a plate it should be amazing. It was not. Don’t regret trying it but I wouldn’t go back."

"Not Mr. Digby's best night. The cocktails were creative and good as always, but the meal let us down. The pot pie was bland, the burger uninspired, and a member of our party had to send back his chicken because it was undercooked. The restaurant replaced that, of course, but the chicken would have benefited from a bit more seasoning. The potatoes were nothing special, either. Mr. Digby's comped the chicken, which was nice, but it would have been better if the kitchen had ensured it was properly prepared before serving. I believe this was the first time we ever experienced a problem like this at Mr. Digby's, and we've been going here since it opened. We're going to chalk it up to bad luck and hope things are better the next time we go there."

"Shown s a top restaurant, it is actually a bar. They did not find our reservation and we went elsewhere to an actual restaurant. Might have been fun for drinks with live music and some snacks but it is incorrectly categorized."

"We had a excellent dining experience, we were very early and they were able to seat us, thank you to Jax. Our server ‘Laura’ was very personable, loved her input about what we were considering ordering, and she was right on! Our dinner choices were so tasteful, the presentation was excellent also. We were celebrating our anniversary, Salty’s made it extra special with rose petals sprinkled on our table, a hand written card, plus excellent service!!! I can’t wait to go back again, with the view of the river, great treatment from the time we walked in to great food and service by our server. The Lange’s"

"I had a 10 ounce prime rib and it was so tough chewing it was hilarious. The vegetables that came with it were good. The garlic mashed potatoes were very non-garlic and since they included the peels of the potatoes, there was more peels than potatoes. The waitress didn’t work too hard and was busy visiting with the regulars. This is the kind of place where the regulars hang out on Friday and Saturday nights. Mediocre food, but they have a killer view. Too bad.this place was not better The meal was $38."

"I had only been to Jack's once a couple of years ago and I recall that I enjoyed the sandwich I had. This time I tried the fish and chips platter and was completely disappointed. The 3 cylindrical (how?! pieces of fish were burned and overcooked. As a matter of fact, they reminded me of my teenage years fast food job when we refried the chicken because no one bought it earlier in the day. So back into the deep fryer it went for the late afternoon customer. We were there at lunchtime so maybe they just burned it. There was a HUGE portion of fries with the entree but they were completely tasteless. The only decent aspect of the meal was the cole slaw. The service and the fact that there was adequate parking were the high points."

"after more than 15 years of enjoying this restaurant, I regret that I will not be back unless my now grown-up children ask for nostalgic reasons. great location and super terrace, but now expensive menu not innovative, just elevated prices. mediocre expensive menu with...wine overload . add parking space in the next door, if not even a pub to restaurant goers a bad taste in their mouth, if many alternatives on 4 th road, they will have to take up their game . bring back the earls from yesterday!"

"I made a 7:30pm Friday reservation for 2 at Earl’s. It was made online and indoor standard seating (not high top was requested. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told to wait to be seated. We watched as others arriving after us were seated....I assumed they were being seated in high top seating, so we waited patiently. After half-an-hour, I approached the hostess. Without making eye contact or apologizing for the wait, she directed someone to seat us. While being walked to our table, I noticed that many indoor tables were available. We were ushered outdoors to the patio. I made it known that I requested indoor seating, to which I was told I had to wait again if I wanted to change seats. We reluctantly accepted the patio high top seating. The patio was also mostly vacant – why were we made to wait so long? We expressed our dissatisfaction to our server, but he convinced us to stay (shout out to Kyle! . The patio was 90% people of colour and indoors were 95% Caucasian. Could have been a coincidence but it was definitely a startling observation in Toronto. Food was okay but the overall experience was soured. This was my first time feeling discriminated against in Canada. I will neither revisit nor recommend Earl’s. Give Kyle a bonus for making this review 2 stars instead of 1."

"conversation was hard when the background music appeared. the small sirloin with the steak friten was made beautiful, but the included bind fabric was too much for this customer to chew and swallow. the staff was very accommodating and quickly adapted to our increasing number of meetings/departure guests."

"Hi, it was very busy when we were there, our waiter was working very hard to keep everyone happy and it was not his fault that the food was barely edible. We did not complain because staff was very friendly and working hard and the food had nothing to do with them. Our potatoes were lumpy, not fully cooked, as well as the vegetables. The vegetables were so undercooked I could not get a knife through the carrots, the Brussels sprouts were like rocks, we ended up unable to eat anything except for the salmon which was pretty good. Had the rest of the meal been cooked all the way it would have been a nice meal. For $100 and only being able to eat one thing that was served I would not recommend or come again unless just for drinks."
