"My experience at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk was not a good one. The hotel itself was very nice however, the convention utilizing the hotel was a total disgrace. I noticed “air fresheners” located throughout the hotel lobby and restaurant. I’m allergic and have a chemical sensitivity. I asked my waitress why they had these placed throughout the place and her response was “do to the people attending the Comic con convention and wearing their costumes for multiple days the smells can be very bad”.Well that was an understatement, the amount of people staying in the hotel attending the conference and smelling extremely terrible was awful. I was not the only person complaining about this situation. I had to wear a silver wristband so I could go up to my hotel room like I was the crazy one. I’m all for people expressing their own uniqueness however, this was and should be a total embarrassment for the facility. A 4 star hotel wanting to host an event like this is insane. Not worth the negative reviews in my opinion. The entire weekend was a waste of time. I really didn’t enjoy any part of my vacation. The awful smells, costumes, behaviors and actions of the people attending seemed unacceptable.My first impression of the city was not great. I ended up leaving early due to the whole experience. At this point, I will now thoroughly investigate the “upcoming” city events prior to booking another trip. I do understand that hotels need conventions and people staying at the hotel but, please look at what type of clients you want representing your hotel.ColeenSafety: I didn’t feel safe at night after 7 p.m. Sorry San Antonio, I will not be back for another stay.Walkability: Yes, everything was within walking distance however, with the amount of people attending the conference it was just too weird.Food drinks: I had one okay meal otherwise nothing spectacular."
