"Everything was good (chicken soup, papa a la huancaina, tallarin with fish) but I ordered a side of huancaina sauce and they didn’t give it to me or mention why not. I’ve never received enough sauce with the potatoes appetizer from any Peruvian restaurant. And in my opinion, their dish was not as good as some of the others. Potatoes were dry, and the sauce did not have much flavor and was lacking. But it was good enough to eat. 3.5/5 stars."

"Food is fresh and flavourful! The best part they serve alcohol which is rare for local Peruvian restaurants. But don't expect a full service bar... it's small with common beers and a few other options (Hennessey, Jack Daniel's, etc. . The service was great, and everyone was friendly. Bathrooms were clean, which speaks volumes. It was my first time here, and it was definitely not the last."

"Despite the accessibility issues, our waiter Marico was very knowledgeable about Peruvian cuisine and made some great recommendations. The Papa Rellenas appetizer was delicious, with a crunchy exterior and a flavorful beef filling. I ordered the ceviche platter, which consisted of three different types of ceviche served on top of cold mashed potatoes with peppers or avocado. My companion ordered the Lomo Saltado and we both enjoyed our meals, which were not only flavorful but also beautifully presented."

"Overall good experience, but probably not back. Our reservation was about 20 min after our reservation, which is not a big deal, but not great. When we waited, I noticed a microwave, and I worked in many restaurants in my life, certain restaurants use a microwave and certain not. Saw several items coming from this microwave while waiting. Not sure what she does with him for, but definitely not a good view especially right at the entrance of the restaurant and for a restaurant that leads on such a beautiful environment. The food was good, all dishes were not bad, but there was something lacking. Especially for 25 for a plate. Cocktails were delicious! And Desserts were good. Service was great, fast and very efficient."

"I found El Agave in the Gaslamp Quarter on Father’s Day. I walked in and thought I’d died and gone to restaurant heaven. It’s gorgeously decorated, there’s nice ambient music playing in the background, and there are interesting Tequila bottle collections everywhere you turn. The service is great. We were quickly seated; and once seated, our waiter brought over chilled water and glasses. Soon after that, he brought out the fresh chips and salsas…yes, plural, as in three delicious salsas to choose from. We ordered, and our food didn’t take long. I am not a Tequila drinker, but the wine list is good. I found a nice Rebeiro. This was altogether unlike any other dining experience I’ve ever had, in a very good way. I didn’t want to leave. I’m telling y’all, this is my new favorite California restaurant."

"I would like this restaurant 4 stars to try creatively with typical Peruvian fern, 0 stars for Peruvian authenticity, and 1 star for taste. If you are looking for authentic Peruvian food, continue looking. The whole food was extremely bland and runny. The Alfajores were wafers thin and crushed the weight of the filling when we picked them up. The exception: the Chicha Morada was actually quite good. The service was also friendly, which is why this rating is not 1 star. Honestly, Chicha aside, that was the worst Peruvian food I ever had, and I had a lot. Guy Fieri approved? I think he has to reassess."

"This was our first time eating at Empire of the Incas. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, the service and the food. There were several families with children having dinner, while we were there. The ambiance was casual and verypleasant. The service was good and the food wa simple and tasty. The portions were big. My husband and I both ordered a piscosour before our meal. We liked it a lot. We also enjoyed the papa a la Huancaína we shared as an appetizer. For an entree, Ihad bistec a lo pobre, which consisted of a steak with two fried egss on top (the eggs were overcooked), sweet plantains, riceand French fries. My husband ordered the lomo saltado and he loved it. The tres leches we had for dessert was OK. Our serverswere always attentive and polite. The restaurant is spacious, clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to our next visit."
