"What a gem in Condado! The owner Chris has balanced an incredible menu with a wonderful ambiance. Let’s start with the emotional response as you enter what is in effect an art gallery! The abstract paintings from Noel Ruiz are stunning. The personally owned piece that we ate aside from kept the conversation brisk and the imagination wandering. The Tabla was a spread of incredible cheeses, with the truffle cheese our favorite. The nutty earthy aromas jumped off the cheese onto your palate. The halibut entree was probably the best piece of halibut I have ever eaten. I have been around the world so this was big. The rest of the family had a burst of conformity and all had the filets. One rare, one medium and one…forgive her…well. Each expertly prepared and delicious. The well done one was moist and tender as well…something that takes skill as many know. The custom concoctions were out of this world. My fav was the one made with Crème de Violet called Purple Rain. Wow I don’t drink cocktails like this often but it made me ask myself why? There was no room for desert unfortunately but I was so close to cranking a piece of the Carrot Cake and my 22 yr old lamented not getting the Cookie thing all night. They had 2 huge parties going on along with a bunch of other tables but they balanced it all properly and pleased us with the right types of interactions and discussions as we waited for the food. And it was worth the wait. Come hungry and come curious and you will have a wonderful time at this wonderful restaurant Almaviva!! Our compliments to the chefs and staff as they had a tough job and nailed it!!"
