"It has been some time since we were at Jax and we were happy to give it a chance before the play at Starlight on July 28. Our server, Kayla I thnk was very pleasant and positive. Becuse it was so hot outside we both ordered an appetizer and a gumbo. The food was excellent as always. The play ended up being cancelled due to the heat so we had the dessert of the day special. A blueberry like cobbler. All in all it was a great return visit."

"Excellent food. I wish we got our waitresses name, but she was exceptional. Only thing I did not care for is being told they had another reservation after us and that we needed to be done by 7:45. Doesn’t allow to linger over drinks and possible dessert. We left our table at 7:48. Overall food was great, 3 of us for the scallop pasta and the other the crab cakes. Two got an order of oysters, one the cooked oysters, and one got the lettuce wraps. All good, will definitely come back on our yearly trips to the OBX."

"it was a difficult start because the restaurant has changed its names, so it was confusing. it was obvious that they have been making a rough away lately; hardly customers were to be found. the ambiente was not very good, but that said eating was surprisingly good and the waitress was great. the prices were very reasonable and a good value for money. if they contain on the look for some basic meeresfood recipes, the lobster **** etc. that's your place."

"I'm torn, my wife and I came here last year to our anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic. This time around them was a little less, so they put us on a dirty table and then wiped it off, brushed all the crumbs in the stand before us, so the table was wet and the seats were dirty. They also stayed fruit flies, not only one, but about five. Our waitress was fantastic, not too imposing, but super attentive. The other staff was less professional, one of them went to the booth when I got up to clean it, and ran right into me without even looking back or even saying anything. All the food and drinks have not changed at all, I still enjoyed it very much. But it felt like I was in a chili serving sushi."

"Qs atmosphere is fun. It?s kind of a cool place and has very good sushi. I like the rolls. The sushi chefs are very knowledgeable. They have a lot of good recommendations. I?ve tried the tuna, salmon, octopus, scallops, and a few other things. Cocktails are very good. I usually get a spicy margarita. They have really good beer on tap. And they have TV with sports games on. There?s also an outdoor seating area. I prefer the bar next to the sushi chefs? They are very attentive."

"I was surprised they had last minute availability on a Friday night until we arrived and stood at the door ignored for 5 minutes along with several other guests before finally seeking out a host. Once seated we waited forever until finally flagging down a waiter to take our order. The water was nice but the location didn’t seem to very well run or organized despite the food being pretty good."

"I go into Sushi Maki on Sunset once or twice a week. I love everyone and everything about this place. Julia and Cecile have been taking such great care of me with dine in or takeout. I love their bento boxes the chicken Teriyaki is one of my favorites . Julia just got me hooked on the Whole Foods Roll… soooo good. Cecile is amazing she is the cutest person ever. The sushi chef’s are great , the food is always excellent. I have always had the best experience when ever I go there. The vibe is always chill and cozy. I love you guys! "When I called to confirm my reservation, I was told that I would have to wait regardless of me making a reservation. It was fine with me, but surprisingly we were seated as soon as we walked in. Being seated, they tried to have us sit at this awkward beam that holds up the roof and it's located in the center of the restaurant. We chose to sit in the corner instead and a very small table which made it uncomfortable for us to eat since the plates hardly fit on the table. Overall the food was great. If you ever come here, order the Albacore Cilantro Roll. That roll is what made this experience so much better. It was overall a good experience but just the seating was a turn off"

"The restaurant did not honor our request to be seated at the sushi bar and instead placed us between two noisy and disruptive patrons in a nearly empty restaurant. The waiter took 15 minutes to bring a beer, only to inform us after reminding him that they were out of stock. We were also charged for a dish that we never received and had to request it be removed from our bill. Overall, the experience was disappointing and frustrating."

We called the phone number and got a recording that thanked us for the reservation and delighted to serve as a meal. Then inform us about all their other locations.
