"A fantastic Mexican restaurant located at the bottom of the Market Station. They have a decent variety of margaritas and tequilas. Salsa was very fresh. "Went to celebrate my friends birthday and put in the reservation notes that It was her birthday but they never once acknowledged it, or did anything to celebrate it. I would’ve been happy to have paid for a dessert or some thing with a candle. Our server was basically nonexistent. we had to wave her down to ask for new drinks or water refills. She didn’t pre-bus our tables at all. Our drinks also took about 20 minutes to come to the table for a second round and we were trying to catch a movie. Food was decent and drinks were OK but Service killed the whole mood. It was also so loud in there. It was hard to hear the person sitting next to me and trust me I love loud music it was just too much."

"I used Open Table to request a Lunch reservation for work crew of 10 with space for boxes holding our secret Santa gifts. La Palapa provided a private room upstairs, and we were comfortable to speak and joke freely. I ordered the refreshing and delicious signature mojito and the tilapia, which was cooked perfectly (not dry) served with a sauce that did not overwhelm the light fish. We all thought the drinks, food, and service were great. Returning with family, friends or for work happy hour is in our future."

"There is MexiCAN and then there is... MexiCANT! MexiCAN is all about good food, bomb drinks and complimentary chips and salsa that will make you literally beg for more. MexiCANT is when the food sucks, the drinks are **** and the chips and salsa are a complete waste of time. At Plata Taqueria Catina... I wanted to literally jump on the table and scream my best Mariachi Grito (you tube it so you know what I 'm talking about as I smiled ear to ear with complete happiness. Here 's how it went down: When I go a Mexican restaurant, the number 1 test is always about the Chips and Salsa. A Are they complimentary?? (And if not, Why the hell not!? B Are the chips homemade and is the salsa made in house? If you fail the chips and salsa test, you fail the life test. Haha. Just kidding. Maybe. To me, Good Complimentary chips and salsa are a must when visiting a Mexican Restaurant and there are No Exceptions to this unwritten rule. Tacos. Are. Life. Who doesn 't love tacos?? I myself am obsessed and this is yet another test that will make or break the meal. Luckily for Plata Taqueria and Catina in Agoura Hills, they not only nailed their chips salsa game, but their tacos were ON POINT!! Test #3 Beans and Rice a.k.a Frijoles y Arroz Yes, Making Mexican or Spanish beans and rice is not only a skill, but it is a baseline for how the rest of the meal will be. A place that has mediocre beans and rice is almost guaranteed to have mediocre tacos...trust me. And the final Test... M-A-R-G-A-R-I-T-A-S!!! That 's right people... You 've had one Margarita, you 've had em ' all is not actually a thing. Plata, I am happy to say.... You Aced Every Single Test!! The Chips Salsa were ridiculously Amazing!! The chips were seasoned with some kind of magic dust that had my drooling for more. And I couldn 't shovel the salsa in my mouth fast enough. They have 12, that 's right TWELVE types of tacos that will make you cry tears of joy!! The green enchiladas my wife ordered which came with delicious rice and beans were perfectly perfect! We decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful sunny day. I had a Corona with lime and a Margarita on the rocks for my wife which was the perfect compliment to our amazing lunch. This was our First visit to Plata, but we will 100% come back for more!"

"We found this place on our way walking to the 1 train to 145th Street. We smelled tacos from outside and we all of a suddenly craved tacos so we gave it a try. We ordered their Chicken Taco, Mexican Sausage Taco, and Cactus Taco. This was our first time seeing Cactus Taco on a menu so we wanted to try it out. We didn't know what kind of Cactus it was because we know there are various different kinds of cactus but it was a nice option for a veggie taco. It had a slightly sour or acidic flavor, similar to green beans or okra. It was tasty overall. Our favorite was the Mexican Sausage Taco, it's always been our favorite and go-to taco. The Chorizo taco was savory and spicy, You never could go wrong with ordering a Chorizo taco. The Chicken Taco has a mild and savory flavor that was also juicy. Overall, what a great restaurant to come across when you are in the neighborhood."

"This is an exceptionally difficult review for me to write, but I feel it necessary to share my experience at this particular establishment. Although the setting may provide a modest ambiance synonymous with a middle range restaurant, the price of the drinks is anything but modest.A focal point of my dissatisfaction centers around a pair of Tequila shots. As a newcomer to the world of Tequila, I sought guidance from our server, who recommended a duo of shots without disclosing their prices upfront, an oversight I deemed to be unintentional at that moment.My perception, however, quickly shifted when I received the bill a whopping $36 for the two shots. To put it into perspective, this is the equivalent of what two main courses would typically cost in a restaurant of this caliber. Needless to say, I was astounded by the exorbitant price, a cost I would expect at a high end lounge, not a middle of the road Mexican restaurant.The absence of price transparency and the unreasonably steep cost for a simple request have left a bitter taste, stronger than any Tequila. Unfortunately, due to these reasons, I cannot recommend this establishment until there are significant changes in their pricing policy and transparency. Consider this a cautionary tale always ask for the prices, especially for recommendations."

"I usually visit Monterey in Matthews, but decided to give Azteca a try since it's nearby. First, all of the dips for the chips were horrible, the salsa tasted like pure onions, the hot salsa looked like french dressing and was just hot sauce. My sister and I decided that maybe the entree's would be great to make up for the chips n dip. My sister ordered the chicken chimichanga...the chicken tasted old and disgusting. I ordered a combo with beef taco, enchilada and a Chile Reno...never had a Reno wrapped in egg. The meat tasted old, and the food was obviously microwaved. We asked for the manager and we didn't have to pay. Food was inedible! Went a short ways away to Monterey. They are close in distance, but they're miles apart in taste and freshness!! Give Monterey a try, well worth it!!"

"we came for gloomy and a drink and both were delicious! the vegan chocolate cake was decadent and light, similar to a mousse. the restaurant was beautiful inside and outside. even though we only came for a couple of dishes, it took a little too long when we wanted to get out for everything. the wine takes more time than for example the cocktail. They would not honor their own happy hour special and after paying for food a request was made for a to go cup 10 times and the male bartender kept stating ok and did not give but served other ppl with drinks in to go cups Even my brother asked for one and he ignored. I became irate and threw my cup of water in the bar area and yelled for my to go cup The young male bartender stated of disrespecting him and did not provide but the female manager requested for me to calm my voice. I informed her that I have been waiting patiently for my cup and have paid my bill. Give me my dayum cup! She did and I left. Needless to say, I will never support this place with the disrespect that was shown. I am very mild mannered so, YOU KNOW I HAD TO BE REALLY PROVOKED TO THROW MY WATER CUP!!! They really do not like ppl of color, only their money and will not ever support this establishment ever again!!!!!"
