"Delicious food but the wait time for the food to come out was insanely long. We came during a weekday and we thought we were lucky to get a table for 3 around 7PM, but the whole meal was about 1 1/2 hours to get all the food on the table. They did give us some bread in advance. However we were very tired by the time we finished our meal. We ordered the roast duck, steak and cheese plate with honey comb. Everything was lovely, no complains on the food. I’ll back again for another meal with my friends, hopefully the food wait time would be shorter."

"Terrible experience. Made a reservation with open table, provided my phone number and email address. When came to the restaurant it was closed due to some maintenance. Person who great us at the place knew about my reservation but was so ignorant and did not call or emailed about the place being closed. I end up spending 40 min in traffic to get there for nothing and thereafter looking for a new place to eat. Terrible service!"

"I love to come here when I'm in the mood for different comfort food. Their Alsatian specialties are great, both the spaetzle and the tarte flambee. And you can order those also during brunch hours if you want something other than the usual brunch fare. Portions are great to share, and the staff is friendly. It's on a quiet block, so sitting outside is very relaxing. They have a small fireplace that they turn on in winter for that extra cozy feeling. Sometimes they have live music."

"Central is one of my favorite restaurants, but in this occasion it disappointed, largely because I had guests from out of town. I had requested a nice table when made reservations; instead, no table was reserved and we were seated right next to the kitchen counter where servers swarmed around us all evening and bumped me at least three times. Then one of the appetizers we ordered was never served, then I was given the wrong order and had to wait for 10-15 minutes for my food to be prepared while my guests had their dinner. I was given a lame excuse (chef didn’t think my steak was done well so they served me a Niçoise instead! . Then, I expected at least that my dinner will be comped but it was not. If I were alone, I would have been more forgiving, but because of my guests I was embarrassed."

"I’d like to start the review off by saying that I have eaten A LOT of brunch in many different restaurants. With that said this is the best dish I have had in years! I had the lamb sausage with eggs and potatoes. The flavors were on point and I couldn’t believe how satisfying this meal was. My wife had the duck confit with eggs and potatoes as well. She was very happy with her meal. The owner/manager(I assume) walked by every table a few mins after each table receives there dish and checks to make sure everything is great. Nice touch!"

"Bluegold consistently delivers excellence in food, cocktails, service and of course a view to dine for! We watched the sunset Sunday and enjoyed the special of the day Fried Chicken. Service size was probably enough for 2, so I'm still enjoying the left overs. "It’s a wonderful hotel restaurant! We were able to be seated well before our reservation; the staff were all professional and friendly; the ambiance wasn’t the best It seemed a little bright for this type of restaurant. The drinks were great; the fried olives were a perfect appetizer! We both had a Spencer steak and shared broccolini, and were “gifted” mashed potatoes because my husband wanted them and I said we didn’t need them, lol. It was a lovely evening."

"I've been in a la for many years. it seems there were some changes in the menu, but not drastic. what they did, it was up to those who loved most people for years and updated it a little. one of my favorites has always been their spinach salad. the change was, however, to replace the mushroom slices with chicken slices. Luckily, the dressing is great and blots out all the problems. (ask for extra dressing on the side. in this case it was the tasteless, dry huh. next time I'll ask if I can get the mushrooms instead. I hope they have not changed their big la frite burger. by the way, it was lunch. their dinners are also good."

"Stopped by today after 4pm to take advantage of the Sunday/Monday deals for dinner (prix fixe executive menu). However, I was told that they were only serving from the happy hour and regular menus. Deeply saddened but still full of curiosity, I tried the 6oz filet mignon (which is the same price as the three course prix fixe meal I was hoping for, of which steak is an entree option). I also had a Lilac cocktail, which was rather delicious and elegant. The filet mignon came piping hot and cooked perfectly. The accompanying chimichurri sauce was delectable and not overpowering. Overall, great steak and drinks, but clarity on prix fixe menu availability would be helpful. Update on 3/10/18... went back to Jack’s yesterday for late night drinks and the crowd was great! The two bartenders (one was called Glenn Coco) were amazing, whipping up great drinks and serving them up with a smile and great conversation. We felt at home here, and will absolutely be coming back and spreading the word!"

"First time here! Celebrating birthdays for brunch. Appreciated the valet Parking for sure. The only reason I rated this place a 4 is due to the website stating business casual but their were patrons in workout attire baseball hats sitting in the restaurant. I felt so over dressed seeing this. We were greeted seated quickly.. Our server was not very attentive so our service was just ok. The wedge salad was great! The chicken waffle was good..Syrup was a little sweet and over powers a little. The drinks were good. It was an 'ok ' first experience. I would like to try their steak in the future."

"4 and a half stars is my rating. This is a pretty underrated date spot and I think deserves a better overall score than its showing on Yelp. We had the snapper and the scallops. The scallops were especially good and they came on something called potato hay, which had a strong but delicious garlic flavor and akmond slivers. So good. We saw a coupme of large parties and Id say this rates a pretty good spot for that or for a business dinner. We'll be back for sure."

"one of my favorite restaurants in sf. whether it's a quick bite or an evening dinner in the late night, monsieur benjamin never disappointed. I would recommend getting a reservation instead of in, unless they don't think of the wait. if you have to wait, I'll grab you an ass with a side of fries at the bar. it's a delicious pairing. if they finally sit on the table, it can take them to decide what to order. everything is so good, especially the escargot, the seafood sausage and the duck jam. to finish, I say order the palmier ice cream with a cappuccino! nothing can beat a nightcap like this pairing. bon appetite!"
