"my mom and I decided to try this place for dinner. she ordered the chicken potcake. She said that there was so much wise in that the court was completely overwhelmed and that's all she could taste. I have the crabcakes. they were very tasty (but small for a deserving), but the red beans and rice that came as a side were terrible. at first it was hardly warm and a part of the rice was crispy. it almost had no taste. when the waiter made our teller clear, he did not even realize the full part that remained on my teller. Why didn't he ask if something was wrong with my eating?! So in the round I paid $20 for 2 very small crabcakes. very disappointing. I'm not going back."

"We haven't been to Skipper Restaurant and Chowder House for years, but have managed to get our party from four here for dinner. So glad we did. What a perfect dinner. Our waiting person Maria is a pleasure to serve us. She brought this super personality to our table with a bright smile. Welcomed us and started to offer us a drink order. Minutes later, our possibilities of refreshments were placed on our four top. Great! We took some time to see the extensive menu offers. A selection of fish, meat and so many different dishes ready to tempt any appetite. Mary returned, took our mission and asked if we needed something else. She went to the kitchen. The place is bright, clean and decorated with the sea and fishermen's decor. No dust buns or spider webs. Nice! Our meals were presented in a few minutes, perfect and still hot on the touch plated. My dinner was Baked Scrod, Vegetable-Medley and a side salad to my taste. My friends were all completely satisfied with their restaurants selection. Don't worry about their meals. This is a journey home! The prices reflect the quality of the offers and skipper makes it right. Great food, great drinks and great service. If you are looking for a pleasant dining night on Cape Cod, try Skipper Restaurant and Chowder House! Enjoy!"

"happy new year for all! for the second year in order I ordered the baked garnel plate as part of the Christmas dinner of our family. once again they were fabulous and there were no remnants. Oh, I found out this year that their party records are not only for the holidays season, they are available all year round. I'm all year round at cove surf and turf. their clam and lobster dinner are delicious as well as fried muscheln and scallops. Actually, there was nothing I had eaten there that I wouldn't order again. the personal is friendly and offers a great service. it is worth the trip! thank you. cove surf and turf for a seafood lover to keep happy! prost!"

"Place was crowded at lunch, don't know why. Our orders were taken quickly but then we had to ask for our salads after a half hour wait during which we never was our waiter. He took our drink order brought the beverages and took our orders and we never saw him again, until another waitress told him we were waiting for the salads. The salads may have had 9 to 10 pieces of lettuce between them. We had onlt taken a first bite of salad when the meals arrived. All of the sides were barely tepid. We had to ask for dinner rolls, which were brought when we were nearly finished eating. The are no prices on the drinks menu, seafood entrees, or desserts. I had a glass of mediocre red wine which retails for 7 to 8 a bottle and paid 10 for a five ounce glass. The service was inferior the food nothing special and the prices were high for the quality of the food. Will never go back."

"I have been a long time customer but have to say how disappointed I have been lately. Portions are small, waitstaff are extremely rude and their attire is not very pleasing. I was there the other night and one of the waitresses was wearing a halter top with cut off jean shorts and boots. Her hair was disheveled and she looked like she hadn 't bathed in quite a while. I was turned off by her appearance and the fact that she was touching people 's food. I opted out of eating and went into the bar to have a drink instead. The bartender was a refreshing change, bright personality and pleasant and her hygiene was clean. Time to clean house literally of the grubby, sloppy waitstaff."

"I was more than excited to learn Freestones would be reopened on my visit back home. I moved away a decade ago and literally grew up eating at Freestones. I brought my wife and children (5 and 3). I had to order the old staples, Syrian Nachos and Oriental Turkey salad..they were both excellent and brought me back to my youth. My wife loved the Chicken Ceaser wrap and the kids devoured the grilled cheese. Only things I'd do is add more specialty drinks and dress the salad and wrap more....we both ordered extra sides of dressing."
