"The Skipper is seriously delicious, can't make it any plainer than that. We happened to be nearby, the Whydah Museum, and decided to check it out. So glad we did. Started off with a cup of their deservedly three time award winning chowder. Quite possibly the best I've ever had, it's so super rich and full of clams. For entree, my partner and I shared the Fisherman's Platter because it's huge. It also happens to be really frickin' delicious. Seafood is very fresh, has good breading, and is fried perfectly. We chose the house made kettle chips instead of fries and they were tasty as well. Lastly, on the way out, we stopped at the ice cream stand. I got the sea salt caramel, was good not great...

Good food, good service, and definitely fits the Cape Cod aesthetic! Went early in the off season so we didn’t have a problem getting a table. They don’t take reservations so I would go early in the Summer to make sure you’ll be taken care of.

Out here in the Cape Cod, MA area and I was looking for a place with a big Clam Chowdah and lobster roll. Sure to say that this place was not disappointed. The Skipper Restaurant and Chowder House was just what I needed. The traditional shell of Chowder mussels was definitely award-winning and the lobster roller was classically prepared and tasted as good as it looks. Service was great! Ocean View was great! 5 stars experience the whole way!

We went on a Friday around 3pm and the restaurant was still full, so be prepared for a waiting line during the weekend. We ordered 2 bowls of clam chowder $9.5 each , one lobster roll $30-ish and a lobster steam pot $45 , plus 2 piña colada and 2 beers. Food was divine, it is on the pricey side but it is totally worth it. The clam chowder was really really good, and the lobster roll had very large lobster chunks. The portion of the steam pot was very large and I needed help to finish it hehehehe. The bill was around $150 tip. I totally recommend this lovely restaurant, and I will come back on my next trip to Cape Cod.

"We stopped here for an early lunch after missing them during the season last year and we're really glad we made it a priority during this vacation. We ordered the Mayflower Beach Dog, the Fourth of July Dog and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Tots to share. It was a bit chilly and had just rained so we decided to take our food just down the street and enjoy it with the view of the beach. I loved my Mayflower Beach Dog! There were a lot of fries on it and they were soft and went perfectly with the snap of the hot dog. The cheese was gooey and added a nice flavor. It didn't even need any condiments on it. My mom ordered the Fourth of July Dog with the bbq sauce on the side. She really liked the fried onions and the hot dog but said next time she would just get a regular hot dog and add some of the toppings they have to it. The dogs have a really nice snap to it and the size is massive. I ended up taking part of mine home and ate the rest the next day; it still tasted really good. The Tots are a massive portion. We saw plenty of pictures beforehand but truly did not understand how huge the portion is. You could easily feed a family of four with that; we have leftovers for days! My mom liked it more than I did; but that's on me since I realized I don't love toppings on my tots. The ranch had great flavor and there was a good amount of chicken to it. Could have possibly used a little less time on the chicken, but that didn't take away at all. I'm very interested in trying the loaded fries on our next visit but will definitely be ordering the Mayflower Beach Dog again!"
