"I have been a long time customer of Earls Broadway and Fir I need to share my latest and unfortunately last experience with them . From the beginning we were offered a table on the patio we asked about the patio heaters..... we were told that the heaters would not be turned on til later in the evening .. We saw another empty table in the atrium and asked if we could have it .. The hostess said yes . We were so happy .. We moved to the Atrium Table and then the hostess came to us and said she apologized.. We could not have this table as it was Covid regulations.. we were 5 ppl. We asked to speak to the manager as we are very versed in all regulations.. The manager came over and said it was no problem .. we were permitted to stay there .. It was a Tuesday .. We love the 50% off wine bottles on Tuesdays and were excited to order a special wine .. Our original server amazing was going off shift so we settled up our bill with her .. She said another server was taking over and and we could take our time and enjoy the evening .. We continued ordering food and drinks .. Then ... all of a sudden the new server comes over and says There is a 2 hr seating window and you guys have been here much longer ... It’s not me .. but my manager asked me to tell you .. We have a wait list for tables .. We look and directly beside us is the empty table they offered us to begin with .. So we knew there was not a wait list . We asked to speak to the manager once again .. It was the night manager now .. She said we were right .. There was no wait list . she was sorry for any misunderstanding and we were allowed to stay .. At this point our table had spent over 600$ Not that the amount is the issue . The issue is that we were Extremely conscious of the new regulations and how it’s taken a toll on restaurants Also that we are out supporting the economy and community . It’s extremely unfortunate the management team is sending mixed messages to their team and therefore creating unpleasant guest experiences ."

"After spending a day at the Charleston Navy Yard and then up at Bunker Hill, we decided on an early dinnner. The closest place was (thankfully) downhill all the way on Pleasant street, a relatively easy walk. On a Tuesday afternoon at about 5 pm, we found the Warren Tavern not at all crowded and we were quickly seated in the room to the left after entering the front door (there was also outdoor seating). We had the room to ourself and took some time to admire the old thick beams in the construction and the provincial decorations. Our seat by the window also overlooked Main Street and it was nice just to watch the people and traffic go by on that beautiful afternoon. We both had the clam chowder, which was quite good, although perhaps not the absolute best we had while in the Boston area. We also both had the short rib shepherds pie, which turned out to be a hearty and tasty entree. Indeed, it was difficult to finish the dishes, since they were so filling. Dinner for two came out to just under $60, not including tax or tip. We didn't see any dedicated parking for the Tavern, and Pleasant Street is narrow and appears to be one-way. That wasn't a problem for us this visit, since I'd left our car at the Nautica parking garage (over near the Navy Yard), after dinner it was simple enough to walk the couple of blocks back there, collect the car, and then drive back to the Tavern to pick up the other member of our party waiting out front. Overall, a good meal in an attractive old building. I'll look forward to visiting again when we're next in the area."
