"It's a small restaurant, so make a reservation or come early if you want a table. The sushi is superb and fresh. They've got unique options like a genuine caviar sushi and barracuda if you're feeling like going off the common path. Otherwise, they have lots of staples. The service was great and there's usually always a waitress looking out for any needing diners. The seating arrangements can be a little cramped though, so I do advise sitting outdoors or just ordering take out if you're trying to feed the extended family."

"I had come to Samurai a few times before the pandemic and it was a great experience. I wanted to try again since I had time and wanted to have great food and experience. Man, I was wrong! When I came to the restaurant, it was about 6:00 and it wasn't busy. I give him two stars because the food was good. When we entered, it seemed like there was a waitress who is inexperienced or new. She sat me and my wife downstairs and then we asked after her drink menu she said they had Saki or beer. I asked her if she was still making cocktails and she informed me that they didn't do that anymore. This waitress was rude when she said it. We told her we were stuck with water and she left. It took 15 minutes to come back and take our order, we ordered the food and at this point the restaurant began to fill. We ordered 4 rolls and sashimi and it took about 35 minutes until the food finally comes. The waitress did not know which roles where and what were missing 2 roles. We started eating our food and about 20 minutes later we got our other 2 reels I understand it was busy. The waitress wasn't aware how we didn't get soy sauce when we asked and forgot them. I had to ask the bus for some and she didn't see us. The other waitress came and checked us instead. We had asked her for the bill so we could go. Our waitress had us wait for about 15 minutes and another 15 minutes until she was picked up after 15 minutes. I signed it with additional tip because we know that tips are important. The food and the other waitress was helpful. The waitress who served us must get a proper training and know how to treat customers, at least be kind. The food was okay, like I didn't say anything special, like it was. This place used to a city favorite now it is a disappointment. I'm gonna go somewhere else for sushi from now on."

"I love Kanpai restaurant they're such a wonderful little locally owned restaurant that's one of the best Japanese comfort food spots in the DMV. Kanpai is best known for their fantastic lunch specials. When I worked in the neighborhood I would go over and get a wonderful katsu lunch plate for right around $10. But Kanpai is even better for dinner, and if Rosslyn was more active in the evenings I think Kanpai get the recognition it deserves. I love going to Kanpai in the evening and enjoying their really well curated list of noodle dish specials like nabeyaki udon and zaru soba depending on the season. You can even get handmade yaki onigiri that looks and tastes flawless. Any place that keeps a natto handroll on the menu cares about the details I don't even like natto and I still order it every time I go just on principle. Give Kanpai a chance to be more than a business lunch and you'll find a real neighborhood gem."

"We always enjoy our meal at Sushi Avenue. Some of our favorites include: pork tonkatsu appetizer, shrimp tempura roll, tuna poke hand roll and really pretty much everything we've had is good. I prefer this location over the other one but it's not open as often parking can be more of a challenge. Parking: This location is on the square so, if you have not been here before, know that you may be parking a quarter or half mile away."

"Very much highly recommend the black mayu ramen especially the egg it was cooked perfectly really the highlight of the dish. The curry pork katsu don was also yummy as well and on point would highly recommend it too. Would definitely would come back!"

"I really like Japanese food so I go to a lot of Japanese restaurants so I have a lot to compare to. This place was really good in general. Nice atmosphere, looked like a lot of places in Japan from outside and in. The best dish we got was a beer short ribs with adobo sauce. The meat on that dish was perfect. The rest were just ok. I would go back, just didn't think or was amazing."

"Suzu is always busy, usually a wait out the door, but respectfully worth it and great noodle soup flavors! We were in JT window shopping and enjoying the hustle and bustle of once again a thriving shopping center. Noodle soup was on our agenda and we've visited a majority of the usual haunts in the mall...Suzu appeared to be a new noodle on the block! Firstly service was impeccable. The two servers worked together in tandem making sure all the tables, including the outside ones were managed and taken care of. We ordered some starters, 4 noodle soups, and one bento box togo. Rich bold flavors on the soup and the ramen noodles were perfectly al dente- chewy not soggy, firm and lovely! "Rated around 2.5 stars: Matsui is a Japanese restaurant owned by Koreans, offering sushi, Japanese and Korean fusion dishes, and ramen. We visited for an early lunch and ordered the Toro and Sake Belly nigiri, which were decent but not very fresh. The Salmon Sushi Box bento box was disappointing, as the salmon was dry and had a fishy flavor, and the miso soup was missing. The Volcano Ramen, advertised as extra spicy, was lukewarm and lacked heat, with overcooked noodles. Despite the underwhelming food, the service was friendly and the restaurant seemed popular among locals. Parking in the shared plaza lot can be limited. Overall, the experience was mixed with friendly service, mediocre nigiri, lukewarm ramen, and questionable spice levels."
