For under $20, my husband and I enjoyed items from the Lunch Specials menu, which came with hot tea, salad with ginger dressing, and Wonton or Egg Drop soup. The hot tea was refillable at no additional charge, while the salad and soup were filling and a wonderful prequel to our upcoming entrée choices. Shrimp Cashews, Beef Broccoli Chicken Fried Rice On this particular visit, I chose one of my favorites…Shrimp Cashews, while my husband decided on the Beef Broccoli presentation. Both dishes were served in colorfully-designed serving plates and included large shrimp, cashews and tender pieces of beef with freshly steamed and stir fried broccoli. A side of chicken fried rice accompanied these selections magnificently. Delicious, and such a deal for lunch in the nonstop L.A area, Bamboo Cuisine in the heart of Sherman Oaks is the place for that perfect lunch when you’re looking for delicious cuisine in a relaxed and tranquil setting. "Orchid Thai is a counter-serve Thai restaurant off Central. There’s ample parking in the back that’s off the main road, which is nice.Inside, seating is at tables with chairs instead of booths, so wheelchair users will have no issues here.Orchid Thai serves a variety of alcoholic drinks along with the standard sodas and teas. The entree menu is large, and they had an item I’ve not seen in my years of Thai dining: a Green Tea Curry. Unfortunately I’m not a fan of green tea flavors, so I skipped this dish.I got the Pud Thai (usually spelled “pad” , which consisted of a protein choice, rice noodles, egg, bean sprouts, peanut sauce, crushed peanuts, broccoli, steamed squash strips, and a lime garnish. I ordered the dish medium, but they forgot the spice and it came mild without a hint of added heat. While the portion sizes were quite large, the food itself was mostly just fine. I’d describe it as “doing the job” since I was hungry, but I wouldn’t crave what they served. There are other Thai places around that are much better and are less expensive. It seems the focus here is on quantity over quality.Vegetarian options: Thai food is easily made vegetarian or even vegan.Parking: There is a large shared parking lot in the back.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs into the venue and all seating is table/chairs, not booths, so patrons using wheelchairs won’t have an issue."

"I distinctly remember having dined in this space before as it offered Korean bento boxes in a previous incarnation. The Oakland themed murals on the walls, in fact, looked really, really familiar, as if they were left over from the previous tenant. These days, this venue is called Los Kinjas and is apparently a new incarnation of a similarly named sushi shop that used to be directly across the street. Here, there's tons to choose from on the menu, whether nigiri, sashimi, sushi rolls galore, ramen, donburi, or even hot items like teriyaki, tonkatsu, and sesame chicken. So much to choose from, in fact, that I had a serious case of FOMO. So I opted for the Three Kinjas combo, which allowed me to sample three offerings, whether the nigiri (reasonably fresh and tasty), salmon sashimi (nice, melt in your mouth texture), or sushi roll (the unakyu roll, if I remember correctly). Not cheap at $31 this is sushi, after all and not necessarily the most filling meal if you're roaringly hungry because you haven't had much to eat all day, so I added a rainbow roll too. Nevertheless, a solid option to have in the neighborhood. Not necessarily one that I would make a special trip from afar, though. Still, after having moved out of Oakland before California reopened in mid 2021, it was also good to see in person dining resuming again, plus it was also reassuring to see that they were doing vaccination checks."
