"Sometimes chain restaurants get bad reviews simply because they are chains. Cracker Barrel defies this. They are ALWAYS good and this visit was no exception. My 13 year old grandson and I stopped in while on vacation. We both ordered the Cracker sampler, consisting of chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, ham AND three sides. Oh plus a plate of fresh out of 5he oven biscuits, Everything was delicious and even though we couldn't finish it we still ordered peach cobler for dessert. What a great way to begin a vacation!!"

"The last 3 visits we found the service was very slow and our food wasn't hot and fresh. The last time I ordered breakfast. My eggs were cold, my hashbrwns and toast was cold. The waitress never came back around to check on us so I could send it back. I ate my sausage and drank my coffee. When she brought our ticket I told her and explained that I should only have to pay for what I ate. A manager spoke with us and apologized and only charged me for the sausage and coffee. That in itself was extremely poor service. Really? He should have comped my meal. We are long time customers and we won't be back."

"We like the food, atmosphere, and all the antiques on the walks. But the last two times we've been there the quality of food, and customer service are declining. My wife ordered chicken fried steak. And she got chicken fried chicken instead. Plus we got there and business was slow, but it still took 35 minutes to get our food, and it was the wrong food. We didn't have time for them to cook another meal. We had arrangements to be somewhere. The time before that, I ordered meat loaf, and it wasn't cooked thoroughly. Hopefully the Alma Cracker Barrel gets this worked out."

"This is the first time I have had a bad experience at Cracker Barrel. I was a little bit shocked to say the least. Put in my order online, drove 20 min to pick up curbside. Got to the pick up, called the number to say I was there, took them 3 tries to finally answer the phone. Gave the name and parking spot I was in, was told that the order was still being prepared but should be ready soon. Sat for about 15 min when a man comes out the back door and over to my car and says You do know curbside pick up closes at 8 right ? No. Also, something that could have been mentioned when I called to say I was AT CURBSIDE PICK UP. Drove around to the front, went in the front door and got in the long line for the cashier. 25 min since I got there. Got to the register (finally) and was told it should be right out. 40 min since I got there. Man comes from the kitchen with to go bags, I jump back in line. Not my Togo bags. 56 min since I got there. Got my order, drove 20 min back home, it was ice cold and hard. Never Again. Bad form Cracker Barrel, bad form."

"I already love the food and atmosphere at Cracker Barrel but what sets this one in San Marcos apart is the staff. Every single person is friendly and accommodating. The hostess was kind and easy to communicate with. The manager has a great rapport with the staff and even came over to our table to have a friendly chat. But the absolute highlight was out server Abbirae D. She was the best server I've had in a very long time and really one of the best I've had ever. She's somehow both fast and attentive. I never felt rushed and everything she did was efficient. She was great at communicating with everyone at the table (we have 4 kids ranging from teen to 1st grader). She had a great attitude and was so intuitive. She knew when we needed something before we ever had to ask. Good food and great service. Plus that Cracker Barrel store is always so much fun. Overall it was an excellent experience."

"We chose Crackle Barrel today. The place was not crowded, so we sat right away. Our server was Staci M and it was the sweetest of all time. We started with sweet tea and decided to order an appetizer called Loaded Hashbrown Casserole Tots. You were so good. It was hashbrowns loaded with bacon pieces and melted cheese served with buttermilk ranch. Once we finished, we were ready for our main course. I decided to order the Chicken Fried Chicken with one side of sawmill engraving with roasted Okra and Mac n cheese. My husband decided to get the grilled Sirloin Steak medium well with steakries and green beans. Steak was cooked for perfection. Then these delicious cookies and maize bread muffins were delicious. At the time we left the place was the filling. Great food and excellent service. Thanks Staci M. We'll be back. If you are visiting or near Beaumont Texas Cracker Barrel. "Like any other restaurant, they are busy with only the dedicated staff who decided to visit. Given that they run with 30% staff, they do great! Today we received excellent, domestic, southern hospitality! I had the fried chicken, my wife had chickens and dumplings that were fantastic! My chicken was delicious, but I would like the chicken had a little more taste for the bread, that is my personal preference. After dinner we spent 30 minutes in the gift shop, find goodies for the children!"

"We were driving to Nashville and decided to stop here for the night. The parking lot overnight seen at this particular cracker barrel was very nice. I didn't feel like anyone was going to be tapping on the windows. Or trying to break into my car. The parking lot was lit fairly well but not overly bright so that it's hard to sleep. Perfect place for campers RVs and other overnighters like car camping. Because of this we had breakfast in the morning. And I also thank the manager for being cool and letting people stay overnight in the parking lot. This is one of the best things about cracker barrels is if you are driving long distances you can actually get some sleep at a location. And then have a really tasty breakfast in the morning. I really loved their maple syrup and a tiny glass bottles. A very nice touch to the meal that I had never had at a cracker barrel before. Definitely worth it. Two little glass bottles of syrup fill the plate perfectly for my French toast. Everything was cooked to perfection. Except for the scrambled eggs were a little runny. But not horrible. The service is friendly. We also got a little entertainment from an old man who is very grouchy. As we were checking out he proceeded to tell us to hurry up. Him and his Walker as he slammed it on the ground. I think he had dementia. But the staff handled him fine. They hurried us out of there to get us away from this old codger. And apologized for him being crazy. But that's okay I was quite entertained as staff tried to calm him down as he banged his walker repeatedly on the ground telling people to hurry up. You could tell this man was counting the seconds of his life. I was greatly entertained by this. And the staff handled him politely and gently. While they checked him out. Kudos to the staff for being awesome. Definitely a great place to go eat."

"The staff at this point is super friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was there with a friend for lunch when another of our friends called us and decided to accompany us. I drew our waitress' attention to the situation and told her, if she wanted, we could go to another table as we had already finished lunch. To my surprise she said absolutely not stay here and take as long as you want. Yes! We gave her a very generous tip since she was super wonderful. Thank you. Update 04/30/2022 After all the years and after the Kovid-19 Pandemie Cracker Barrel, one of the most affordable restaurants in the industry remains. "Stunning service! +2 star. Great vibe. Bland food the breaded shrimp was great, but the sides, even the apple, were fairly average and not memorable. For some reason, the food was also not that filling. The service was slowww, but oh so kind. The waitress was clearly stretched between way too many tables. She was friendly and paid close attention to all of our quirks. A lovely lady who is the only reason this rating is 4 stars instead of 3. Overall, the food portion was fine, the price was… reasonable, I suppose, and the food taste was a bit on the bland side. A time for us to rest in the vibe of the place. "my family and I were here to have a great dinner. ingenious and service super as usual. my disabled father (who is in a wheelchair) had to use the toilet room as he did, so he began to bleed badly from his foot while he was in the stall. there was blood everywhere from where he was to the exit door where I was waiting for him. I went to the host to let her know there was a lot of blood in the man's rest because of my father. the so-called male manager came looking at my father and never once asked how he was if he needed medical attention, nothing! I said I could clean this blood and I apologized for my father. his answer was no, and huffed and said to one of the workers I will need a lot of towels. that is ridiculous behavior for a restaurant manager and my family and I will not be more than patrons at this facility."

"We had a wonderful experience in the cracker barrel in Cross Lanes! My husband and I had two pork chops, baked sweet potato and cucumber salad. Biscuits and Muffins. He had sweet tea and I had black regular coffee and water with lemon in it. We always have a good experience in this restaurant and in Kanawha City. The young man waiting for us was great, and the young lady who removed the tables spoke to us for a while. I would recommend Cracker Barrel to everyone! Our granddaughter-in-law is a server there few nights a week. He works for NGK Sparkplug, but also with Cracker Barrel. They are very good for their employees."
