"Our daughter attended Clemson from out of state and we fell in love with Greenville. It is a beautiful city filled with wonderful restaurants. We have never had a bad experience until we decided to celebrate her latest birthday at this restaurant. She remained in Greenville after graduating We have visited many local establishments. I waited two days after our experience to give myself time to give an honest review. We did have reservations on a Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. The restaurant did not seem especially busy. We were greeted by a hostess that seemed confused. Once we were seated our waitress was less than pleasant. We attempted to make our experience positive despite the inattention of our waitress and her obvious annoyance. Luckily another waitress stepping in. The table next to us turned twice and we were still struggling to make the best of the evening. I ask another waitress to please do something for my daughter’s birthday. She stated they could do a small desert with a candle and would pass the info to our waitress. This occasion was also listed on our reservation. After 2.5 hours our waitress handed us the bill. At this time I requested my daughter’s step outside and ask to speak to a manager. The manager promptly told me they were busy! The food was good and I do not mind waiting for a good meal. If there are delays communication is the key to good service. Unfortunately the management and staff did not communicate or apologize for the lack of service. Please know this is not an establishment meant for special occasions. I deeply regret choosing it for our youngest daughter’s birthday dinner. My oldest daughter flew in for her sister’s special day and insists we did not receive the service we saw others receive because their father was not with us. The next day we had dinner at a restaurant worthy of Greenville’s reputation to celebrate. It was the first time in six years we have been disappointed in an encounter in this beautiful city. The response of the manager was unacceptable and unapologetic despite my obvious distress over the situation. A kind word and genuine concern would have gone a long way to rectify the situation."

"I have come here on two separate occasions and been disappointed both times. Today, we were sat at 3:35 and no one spoke to us until we asked for assistance about 20 minutes later. Apparently, the staff member that sat us did not communicate with the hostess, so our server did not know that we had been sat. Still, after another10 minutes, we had not seen our server. The hostess was kind and helpful and the manager was receptive, but I cannot recommend that anyone visit unless they are not especially hungry and have nowhere else to go."

"Fantastic plant based vegan restaurant! We had the Sweet baby avocado sandwich, the Fish out of water sandwich, a kids cheeseburger, and a chili dog special. Everything was tasty and appealing to the eye. The Pina colada smoothie was good as well. The blueberry lemon cake for dessert was excellent, could eat a couple of those on my own! "Wow, I've been missing out over the last 10 years. Ate here for the first time in 2014 as part of a work Christmas party. The food was catered basically pre made and I was not impressed. Being part Italian I have really high standards to what true Italian cooking should taste like. So because of this I refused to come back here. Well fast forward 10 years I returned due to the fact that our best friends wanted us to join them for dinner here so I reluctanly accepted their invitation. I decided on the shrimp and scallop pasta. Whoa, the flavor caught me off guard. It was so delicious. The sauce was fresh and rich. The seafood was tender and balanced. The portion was decent. But when you add on the salad and endless garlic knots that by the way were super good and I probably ate too many, no way you go home hungry. Nothing like a great meal with great friends and this place served as the best setting. I sincerely apologize for bad mouthing Portofinos for all these years and thanks for having me back."

"Iron Hill is a nice place for drinks and food! I usually sit at the bar and get much faster service than at the table, but it was still ok. I will say that substituting the fries for any other side is a $3.00 upcharge, which is ridiculous for something like spinach. A very small side of spinach at that. I wish I could have it every other day, but I can't justify spending over $20 on a chicken sandwich and sauteed spinach that often. It's become a treat for here and there, sadly. The blackberry margarita was absolutely delicious, but it should have been for being nearly $14 a piece lol. Also, the fried green tomatoes with the pepper jelly were amazing! Highly recommend! Their beer selection is usually very good as well."

"The cornbread alone is to die for!! Also they have pineapple cider, which is a personal favorite. I got the catfish- I thought it was going to be dusted fried, it was a heavier fry. Still delicious. My wife loved the risotto, which was creamy and rich. My kids enjoyed the pad thai, which was sweet and spicy. And the chicken tikka masala was a hit with everyone, with its creamy and aromatic sauce.We were pretty full by then, but we couldn't resist trying some of their desserts. We ordered the chocolate lava cake, the tiramisu, and the baklava. They were all heavenly and decadent. The chocolate lava cake was ooey and gooey, the tiramisu was light and fluffy, and the baklava was crispy and nutty. We savored every bite and licked our spoons clean.We had a wonderful time at Purple International Bistro, and we can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the price was reasonable. If you're looking for a place to treat yourself and your loved ones, you should definitely check out this gem of a restaurant. You won't regret it!"

"Their coffee is fantastic, and the food is better than that of the average coffee shop. Their system needs some work though, because right now there's a 50/50 chance your food order winds up in limbo and never gets to you. So don't order food if you have somewhere to be later. "Table 301 is the best catering service in the Greenville area! They catered for our intimate wedding of 20 guests. They can offer a more customized menu for a smaller events, and for us, that included 15 filet mignons prepared sous vide, which our guests are still talking about— they were delicious! My husband is celiac, and 301 easily accommodated this by offering any desired ingredients for the salad and charcuterie table (including gluten-free crackers and dairy-free cheeses). They made our wedding day exceptional and delicious, and I cannot recommend them enough!"
