"Hostess was unfriendly and needed training in how to greet and treat us. Temperature in the entire restaurant was very cold. We asked hostess to please have the air conditioning turned down. She hesitated, seeming uninterested. Customers to our right and left then supported our request. She said then, unenthusiastically, okay. A while later air conditioner continued to stay on. Finally, I asked a male waiter to ask the manager to change temp. He politely agreed and did so. However, after a while, still nothing happened. Eventually, manager came to our table, no smile and cooly said she had been busy in the kitchen when the young man told her. Apparently, the hostess had never said a word. Manager then went to change thermostat. Restaurant warmed for a little while, then soon very cold air again. We gave up as the food was good and we would soon be leaving. Suggestion: Olive Garden needs to do some serious training of it's staff in PR and temp needs to be better regulated. We used to go often, but for last 3-4 years have stayed away, mostly because of these very issues. One good note. Our waitress was very good, polite, skilled, attentive, obviously trained some other place. I live 1 1/2 miles from Olive Garden. It's a shame this place where once we and friends loved to dine has gone down so much. Oh, very few customer in the restaurant for obvious reasons, so large crowd was no excuse for the service. Husband and I halved our meal, as we often do, as we do not eat as much now that we are Seniors."
