"Where do I even start? I am traveling solo through the country and I like to splurge on a nice dinner towards the end of my journey which happens to be Zurich. Read some nice reviews and decided to try this place out. I walked in behind an older couple (maybe 65-70 years old) and they were quickly sat by a male server without asking for a reservation name or checking the tablet for a name. When the sever returned to the front I asked for a table of one and he point to who I assume is Mr. Paulo Alexandre. Mr. Alexandre told me they were fully booked and I cannot dine in unless I have a reservation but I can sit outside at one of the empty tables if I like. So I chose to do that. However the older couple in front of me had no issues getting a table by the server. Now the food was amazing but the service was less then stellar. I don't know why the server (I don't know her name, but she was Italian) treated me so poorly, maybe because I look young and dining alone, so she assumed I can't afford it? I guarantee you I can afford a nice dinner when I want. I asked for a wine list, I never received. I was never informed of the specials, but the table next to me were told the specials. I was only offered one piece of bread while the table next to me were offered more. Whatever the reason was, she shouldn't judge a guest by what they look like (or dressed like) or if they are dining alone. After paying $117 USD (99 Francs) for my one meal and one dessert, I still tipped 15 Francs. As someone who has been in the hospitality industry for 20+ years, I always leave a tip, even if I was treated poorly or like a child. Unfortunately, the amazing food was overshadowed by the terrible service which created an unfavorable atmosphere. Let this be a warning to those who travel/dine solo, that you may not receive the same service as others."

"Oh! Sehr fein!"

"Be ready, if you order 2 mins after 11.00, you will not be able to have a breakfast anymore. Basically, you cannot order food from 11 to 11.30. Which is okay, but I would expect you are told so when you enter cafe at 10.57 and either suggested to make an order fast or you at least staff is being nice and suggests you a coffee of cake while waiting."

"We visited Don Leone on a midweek evening with a large group of colleagues. Despite the rainy weather forcing us inside, the restaurant wasn't too crowded that night. The decor is straightforward and unpretentious, allowing the food to be the star. And on that front, Don Leone largely delivered. We overindulged on a variety of dishes, all presented well and of generally good quality. The only misstep were some overcooked steaks, so be sure to specify your desired doneness. What truly shone, however, was the impeccable service. Our large party was tended to attentively from start to finish. Coupled with a reasonable 50 CHF per person cost including plenty of wine, it made for a very satisfying group dining experience overall. While Don Leone may not wow with fancy decor, it seems to prioritize executing reliable Italian staples backed by hospitality that caters equally well to both large parties and intimate dates. A solid option when craving well-prepared classics in a comfortable, unfussy setting."

"It’s a totally different experience. All dishes are vegetarian or Vegan. Indian and Arabic available as well. It’s like you collect what you want, how much you want and finally pay at the counter for the weight of the food you picked. It’s 5.5 CHF per 100 grams. So be smart when you select your items. Take away available as well with paper bowls and plates. That too weighed and priced. Most dishes taste good. That’s an added plus point. Suitable for vegetarian Indians and Muslims who want vegetarian as Halal cannot be ensured at all restaurants. I missed the Arabic bread/ Pita bread. Otherwise a wholesome experience."

"the local has an attractive outdoor area. Italian kitchen. eating is as good as possible, not to be challenged, even though the rather common, somewhat crisp Bindella fabrication, fast money with the tourist. the personal makes on italianità- but it doesn't stop, it just lacks style and behave. for example: a white wine is recommended to us, I ask for the price; it must first ask and disappear. the question remains unanswered until the end. yet our waiter comes, he brings a white and gives (or pours) unquestioned. also red wine and water are unquestioned and every three minutes will be presented, whether you want or not. it's just annoying and finally a naughty. every time the waiter bangs the bottle on the edge of the glass, an untiring sign of missing formation. already where we sat and (at least at prosecco) talked he was always in the conversation whether we would finally order. what was then banged to us was medium. my **** ordered filet (fr 50) came as a black, cold piece meat. was taken back immediately, not the supplement. after a few minutes came a new piece, fried shorter, alone on a cold dish, without a spicy or a little garnish. keep a little sweet. Conclusion: not so my place to stay or eat properly well. but also not bad."

"A very well decorated and magnificent place. Cuisine like there was delicious! The service is very fast. There are a lot of customers, so some servers aren 't very friendly , but they are polite. To try (and plan to book)!"

"The food is so good that it makes you forget how bad the service is. 30 minutes to receive menus. Another 10 minutes for a bottle of wine, the food took over an hour. Always something missing at the table. But really the food is so damn good. I just hope they get new waiters."

"Nice, cozy restaurant. I find the ambience to be a sweet spot between rustic and chic. The service is sufficient. However, we sat in a larger room, there were a lot of people there (probably Christmas parties). There could have been one more waiter/waiter if necessary. The food was really very good, the PLV was good. I will come back and can recommend it. The connection is great with a stop right in front of the door, making it easily accessible for older or disabled guests."
"Not recommendable! The behavior of the staff was not pleasant and courteous and unfortunately the food wasn't really good either, the price/performance ratio wasn't right and the ambience wasn't good either due to the staff! Seems very focused on profit and not the well-being of the guests."

"We wanted to eat something and searched for the best Burger shop in Zurich. Went to the Nr.1 place(I will not mention the name), but was closed. So we decided to go with the 2. placed Burger shop, as it was only 10mins away. The district is not everyone’s choice. Once you are in the restaurant, you fell comfortable and welcomed with the friendly waiters. Tables are clean and good seperated. There is also a lovely terrace in the courtyard . Our choice was the Classic Burger with salad and the Bacon Burger with Fries. Homemade Beef, Sauce and fresh veggies. The Burgers were delicious and tasty. This place is marked for the next visit."
"We have been going to Al Forno for decades. Angelo and his team serve the guests in an extremely friendly and competent manner. A very family-friendly atmosphere. Children are very welcome. The typical Italian food is top notch. The pizzas are also the best you can get in Zurich. Keep it up ;"

"Overall a nice place with some clear disadvantages. The good: Tasty food, friendly, albeit seemingly quite stressed staff, some good vegan options, and short waiting times for the food and drinks. The bad: We had to wait for about 30 minutes to be seated. We had to share a large table with strangers. The place is very noisy and crowded. There is not much space between the tables, so we had to get up multiple times to let people pass by. Not at all a place were we felt comfortable and wanted to stay for a bit longer. Probably way better during summer when you can sit outside."

"again we were at the grotto ticino for a family celebration. this time I knew that eating was excellent. I had the gnocchi with veal bolognese, delicious. also the starter bark tartar, which comes in different sizes and in different levels of spiciness, was absolutely... divine! but the most wonderful at this evening was the service. the waiter was fast, right and just perfect friendly. the right eating has been served the right person and it is not easy to serve a set of 17 people. well done and thanks!"
