"The Depot Restaurant and Lounge in Shenandoah, Iowa is GREAT! It is not the Ritz, but there are five stars in every other aspect. The depot is a piece of Americana that you should not miss, the food is fantastic (if you find a restaurant that makes the world class Chicken Fried Steak and it fits with a homemade beer, then you know that you have found a great one). We came to Gänsejagd and after our first meal there we ate all meals and drinks in the depot for three days. The service was good and the servers were fun and friendly. Oh! comfortable, everyone welcome atmosphere. pretty good menu, a place where they can go and everyone knows their names. must work on the menu and have a few homemade picks, brot etc.

I lived in Shenandoah for 14 years and my family ate in the depot on many occasions of service and the food was great. My ex-husband and I also went to shoot pool and listen to music. It has a great atmosphere
