Unfortunately, I can't describe my recent dining experience in enough detail to convey how disappointing it was. I expected a small restaurant to feel cozy and inviting, but that wasn't the case here. It felt more like an outdated establishment that could use a makeover from Gordon Ramsay. While I can generally find comfort in any setting, I do expect good food, even in an older restaurant. Sadly, the food fell short – the pasta was undercooked, the mac and cheese was lackluster, and the coleslaw was inedible. The BBQ platter included dry, overcooked chicken wings. Perhaps breakfast is the better choice at Phil’s? On a positive note, the overall service was pleasant and welcoming.

This was my husband and I's first time dining at Phil's for dinner (we've visited many times for their consistently excellent breakfast). We arrived with a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We decided to share the meat pizza and the poutine. The poutine came with sausage gravy and bacon, topped with scallions over perfectly cooked French fries.
