"Simply the best place there is to get a great meal and to get some Soul!!! The pulled pork is tender, cooked just right, and has that award-winning taste. When I can get the Burnt-Ends, they are a must for me, along with a good old Soul Burger. Make sure you order a side of Fried Okra or Green Beans, and the Greens are perfect as well. Pair any of these with the great beer selection on tap, and soon you will see why this place truly is good for your Soul."

Southern Soul has great food. The smoked chicken, pork and wings are my favorite. I often pick up dinner for the family and orter the meats by the pound.

Had outside pork plate, sauces we good and plentiful. Sides were good. Didn't like the ordering and service setup nor the line. Southern Living got it all wrong. This is not the South's best BBQ by a long shot. But, it's good.

"We went to ECHO the first time on The young lady that waited on us was great. My prime rib meal was okay but not great by a long shot, my wife had shell in her crab cake BLT. There was a horrible fly problem, the server apologized and said we are trying to get rid of them. We had a reservation on our anniversary, food was a little better but should be better for what you pay for food. The fly problem was just as bad and when we said something to the server was not pleasant and said it's because they are a waterfront restaurant. Not impressed with him!!! We believe in giving restaurants a second chance, both times ECHO fell short. We frequent waterfront restaurants whenever possible, many with outside dining similar to ECHO and have never had a fly problem"

"There were 3 of us. We started by sharing a beer salad, calamari and corneal dusted oysters. Delicious!!! I was content with that and so the other two people decided to have the catch of the day but asked to change what it was served with. No problem. Split the plate, no problem. Had the chocolate coconut pie for dessert-YUM!!! A great meal and great service."

"My mother and I wanted to go to an Italian restaurant while on vacation, but we needed one that would be pet friendly, and it was the best choice! They took care of our baby Leo so well, and made sure he always had fresh cold water! The pasta was amazing, and they not only made sure we had a great dinner but also offered us to have refreshing water with lemon to go and even gave us an amazing dessert, which was unexpected and very sweet (I wish I got the name, but the girl who was helping us had long blonde hair in a pony tail; also, very beautiful one! ! Also, if you choose to seat outside, you definitely do not have to worry about it being hot, as they have fans everywhere, and it is also a gorgeous place overall. We are definitely coming back there when we go to St. Simons Island again!"

"The first time here for my wife and me. An excellent meal all around. The food, service, seating and I prepared great tasting food very well. We sat near the window overlooking the marina. The duck rolls for appetizer with a well prepared drink was perfect. Salad very fresh with great dressing, dinner Paella and supposedly scallops and shrimp excellent, desert cake perfect and coffee okay. The wine was very good with a beautiful cast. We enjoyed our time very much, especially our super friendly and experienced server Laney. Thank you."

"The food at halyards has gotten so expensive while the quality has drastically declined. The place was dead when we went and the value for what we paid was pathetic. We were really disappointed as we’ve enjoyed eating there for years whenever we visit Sea Island. We won’t be back."
