"Working in Birmingham for a lil' bit and I spent some time exploring downtown while playing some Pokemon GO. I walked by this place and I vowed to come back to check them out. Here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of 20th Street University Blvd. is this gem. The sign is bright, bold and intriguing. Wings Around The Clock? Like, I can get them 24 hours a day? No, that's not even close to the case, but it's a catchy name. Lol. Inside is also brightly lit and painted in lots of orange, a beautiful color indeed! It was fairly quiet inside, but the restaurant is a little on the smaller side, yet there was plenty of room for seating. Service: I got takeout so I didn't have any table service, but I did meet Jeff who runs the place. He's 71 years old and loved to show off the celebrities who have visited this place. Lol. He was a sweet gentleman. Food: So the wings are smoked for 2 hours then flash-fried upon being sauced. Y'all know how I feel about smoked wings man! They offer 34 different sauces and I got 5 to try out. Let's run through them! Chip's Favorite: This is an Asian BBQ sauce that's named after the current owners great nephew, who actually started the place a while ago. The wings were so tender and they had such a BOLD flavor. A tad bit spicy with some sweetness and good subtle teriyaki flavor. Even hints of cinnamon. Orange Buffalo: These are a Buffalo sauce and bleu cheese mixed together. The wings just fall off the bone and these were super creamy! I really liked these. Vampire Stopper: It's a spicy garlic flavor that consists of a dry rub and sauce. I really liked how the sauce was almost underneath the skin. It was done really well. Smokin' Hot: These were supposed to be the hottest flavor on the menu. The smell was quite strong and crept into my nose. Lol. It gave me a traditional hot cause flavor, but honestly, Chip's Favorite was hotter. Hot Parmesan: These were also delicious. It tasted like a hot wing with some Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. It worked really well due to that smoky flavor that also gets added when you smoke wings! Value: 5 wings costed me $6.50 and in this day age, that's a pretty good value, especially for the quality and size! So you don't have to break the bank here, but you'll want to try out all of their 34 flavors! Lol. In conclusion, I'm definitely coming back here whenever I'm in the area to check out some of those other flavors! I loved it here and look forward to my next visit."
