"I am from Texas myself, and I've never had real New Orleans food, but I absolutely LOVE this place! It's a little patch of heaven in this city the service was amazing, the food reminded me of home, and the space is small but homey. I would recommend EVERY southern person to come here if they're missing home (also, they did sweet tea perfectly I'll be bringing my husband in for our 3 year anniversary and see if this reminds him of home too?Parking: I had to park pretty far away, but hopefully, that was only due to the Padres game that was happening."

"My wife has gestational diabetes and I have high cholesterol (this is despite us both being pretty fit and clean eaters, but I digress . The two health diagnosis above are important because it?s tricky to eat out to accommodate such restrictions. We wanted to try this spot since a Mediterranean diet is within reason for us. I got the avocado salad with added grilled salmon ? kebob. The salad ? itself wasn?t anything special just a variety of ?, and about half an avocado. The dressing, as simple as it was (I think lemon ? juice, and olive oil was actually quite refreshing. But the salmon was REALLY good, and filling, which is important considering the salad is just water. It was about 5 oz of salmon. All combined, it was a very tasty salad that rang true to a healthy meal and was respectful to my dietary restrictions. ?? My wife got the chicken kebob plate. The ? was very very tasty. The kebob made better because of the tomato ? and white onion ? that grilled along with the chicken a seemingly clean version of a chicken parmigiana (no cheese here . There was a simple salad and some brown rice, both good complements but nothing like the kebob. It was ?. For an appetizer, we had the caprese salad (fresh mozz with tomato ? and pesto, with cucumber ? instead of pita ? . The pesto was on point. Very flavorful. I?m sure it?d be a pinch better with the pita, but that?s on us for not trying it that way. With cucumbers, it was a very fresh app, good for a hot day. And the service was very good too. Friendly and responsive. Kudos to the restaurant. A great experience. Especially on a delicate diet."

"This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I would describe it as a more creative version of Panera. The dishes I saw passing by all looked delicious. I ordered the farm club sandwich and the kale and apple salad, both of which were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the balsamic dressing on the sandwich and the fresh basil in the salad - they added great flavor. The rose lemonade was pleasantly sour and refreshing. The service was excellent and there is also patio seating available. Overall, a great dining experience."

"Left this place thinking about the next time I'll come back. My friends and I came here with high expectations and they exceed our expectations! Bread Basket 5/5 The assortment of bread with the butter was fantastic! We could not keep our hands of this. My personal favorite was the cubed ones. Fiori di Zucca 5/5 This was recommended to us by our server I'm glad we took this word. There were 3 deep fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with Ricotta herbs along side with a spicy tomato sauce. The elements all together work so well! Boscaiola with Mafalde 4/5 Chewy and long pasta covered in a creamy sauce with homemade pork, mushrooms peas. The mushrooms were my favorite part. Arrabbiatissima with Pappardelle 4.5/5 Long and wide pasta with a tomato sauce that was slightly spicy! It was topped with burrata. I have never had this type of sauce definitely recommend this one! Pomodoro Fresco with Rigatoni Polpette 4/5 Chewy thick pasta with a tomato sauce topped with burrata, cherry tomatoes meatballs. Delicious! Tiramisu 5/5 This was WOW! We were celebrating a birthday they had given us a complimentary dessert. The server came out with a deconstructed tiramisu they assembled it right in front of us! Such a great little experience. This is definitely one of the best tiramisus I have ever had. To top it off, they even had a candle in the tiramisu! Service 5/5 The service here was wonderful to say the least. "this place is super unconsistent. I've been here over 20 times. That's good, so I'll be back. but soou contradict everything from the amount of cheese in the waffel / quantity of topping / boba, quantity of honey or lemon etc. They are even contradictory to their faithful rewards, which last time decided, drinks only do not waggle, they receive a stamp despite the glue machine, which otherwise stated. that is all in order, but really be consistent."

"I'm no expert in Poki, but the fish here is pretty amazing. My first time but all I can say it's like a Sushi Burrito Bowl (which I never understood because without the tortilla it's not a burrito! The tuna and salmon were really fresh. Toppings were also uber tasty. And I like the choices in the base white rice, brown rice or quinoa. I got the quinoa for that extra protein punch. Really liked it crunchy texture with the fish. Super awesome servers too. This is an assembly line kind of place but at each station they took the time to answer my dumb questions. I'll be coming back!"

"Chef Soichi Daniel are phenomenal, either one will give you the best time of your life. Soichi sushi is a more traditional less of a modern take to omakase, so you're expecting lighter flavors, not a lot of sauce mainly refreshing. For the highest omakase price point of $135, which is higher than what my friends mentioned in the past; I'm assuming due to inflation etc. We had an incredible time, I always love pouring sake for our sushi chef sitting at the bar to watch our chef Daniel work his magic. We probably had the earlier seating were surprised our sushi chef was still going after almost 20 rounds of shots... very impressive! Definitely sit at the bar, as that's where you get most entertainment. Everyone is so lovely here, plus sushi is delicious. I love being recommended different rare sushi to try because every sushi restaurant offers different varieties. I recommend Soichi definitely recommend getting the Crystal Dragon sake it was almost like drinking water."

"Such an awesome place!! I was there with family to celebrate the anniversary of my grand father's life after his passing last October. He LOVED this place for many years! We had a large party of about 14 people and the staff did an excellent job. We were also perfectly timed with the Miramar airshow! And got to watch it from our tables! The portions are huge, so you WILL be leaving with a box for later ; Kid friendly, lots of windows on the north side to watch the small private places to land and take off UP CLOSE!. Awesome decor and ambience."

"A grown up place to eat classic fare prepared and served with the utmost professionalism. When you have grown tired of the hype surrounding the latest and shiniest new restaurant in town that will only be open a couple of years, come to Grant Grill to get food and service that sets a strong standard by which to judge other places. I would not recommend this restaurant for people who want the latest, flashiest flavor of the month. Citrus and beet salad was just singing. Still thinking about that one. Grilled octopus was just smoky enough and served with a dollop of sturgeon caviar. Yum! Scallops are so good it will remind you why you like eating scallops. I loved the risotto entree. Tonight we stayed away from beef and pork, but I'm sure I'll get to those one day."

This is an upscale restaurant and the menu offers authentic Italian cuisine at md offer prices. Food quality was excellent and wine prices were appropriate. "Delicious food and drinks! This was our first stop during my bachelorette weekend in SD and it set the mood for our entire weekend eats! I ordered the Tennessee Buffalo chicken sandwich with salad and it was amazing! For drinks I got their pretty in pink cocktail and it was so good I had to get two lol. I really liked the atmosphere and service too. I especially liked how we were placed on the waitlist before we even arrived at the restaurant. I called in and they were able to add us so we saved some time. Once we arrived, we were seated right away. My friend had tried their brunch on a previous trip and couldn’t stop raving about their chilaquiles during dinner. Definitely recommend!!"

"185 dollars (big tower shown. We had no sauces to ask, and the hostess came to the table to check that it was missing before she took another as she did not believe us. Drinks were consistently empty for 15 to 20 minutes. They said that the pasta was enough to share three people as a duck. (See picture. My father asked to pull butter to go with crab legs, sat and waited with the crab legs before him on the plate for 15 min. Finally the bartender asked and he brought within 1 min. The apps came out after about 25 min. The entrances came a significant time and were served for several minutes separately, so each one eats separately. No additional plates were given for the pasta we wanted to share. At this point the waitress had not been seen in over 20 minutes. Almost no plates were cleaned all the time, so we had to try to fit our ducks to the table while all our appetizer plates and serving plates remained from the previous course. There were several employees. Definitely not understated. When he finally asked for a manager, he told us that he had just arrived at the restaurant and told us that there was an influx of tables and the kitchen came back. He offered a free dessert that we rejected because we had to come back after almost two hours, most of which had to wait for one or another. The manager brought the check and removed three iced teas and two side salads. Hostesses gave dirty looks and whispered with hands on hips and shaking heads to us. The waitress came over and apologised sincerely, even though it was only the kitchen behind which was not the big problem. She said that the manager had removed some drinks and side salads, but that she would also add a discount. She didn't add a discount. Totally terrible experience. A restaurant with high final prices should have a high or at least decent service."

"I am not a very picky person (as they can see from previous reviews), but this is one of my least preferred meals. I ordered the cocospalms, mushroom tings and mushroom quesadilla. the aguachi had practically no taste and really needed salt and lime. honestly, it didn't cost anything as I remembered. the mushroom quesadilla came to a sauce that I just don't enjoy personally. the mushroom tinga was the best dish of the night, but again it was nothing to bash. there are so many better vegan options in hillcrest and san diego, I would simply not recommend choosing this place unless someone really wanted to come. the food doesn't taste almost as good as it looks. the service is also immaculate. the person, the water and the cleaning of the tables was very friendly, the waiter was not rude, but also not friendly. my family ordered the non-Veg menu and did not enjoy their food. updated by previous review on 2021-12-01"
