"Came here for a birthday party and it was a nice, perfect lunch dating trip. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. They explained the menu really well and also offered some recommendations. It was exactly what we needed for an exclusive lunch rendezvous. Perfect place for an intimate 1 to 2 hours setting to get to know your date with an old friend or one. I always loved Shabu Shabu and that was a great find! "So so so amazing and yummy. We chose the patio! Where fresh herbs were growing next to us. The food was all so great the butter was .... you just have to try it look at the pics. The elk was to die for. I loved the cute decor and humor. The ladies restroom was stocked with Bobby pins, feminine products, hairspray ect.... so so cute! I'm so proud of my friend Leah and her creations!"

My husband had the special that night and he was stuffed after eating it all. We always look forward to coming to this special restaurant. My work use to come her on our work Christmas dinners for about 15 years. Always a great meal, atmosphere and good company."

"I lived in Thailand for a long time. That's as authentic as it will. Get the cattle cushion kra pao with a fried egg above. The bomb. Customer service is great. Sticky rice and chicken wings are also a good choice. Papaya Salat is a very authentic dish for Thai people, but most western will not like it. It's very sharp. I would highly recommend this place."

"I ordered the Med 6.0 bowl for the first time at this restaurant. Instead of customizing my meal, I opted for a preset option. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to inspect the food at the counter before ordering, which turned out to be a mistake. By the time my meal was finally served, my husband had already finished eating. This seemed odd for a counter-service restaurant. The broccoli in my bowl was completely burnt, and when I brought it to the counter, they informed me that it was intentionally charred. The Brussels sprouts in my bowl looked the same way. The staff kindly replaced the broccoli with sweet potatoes, but I was disappointed that my meal was not enjoyable due to the burnt broccoli, in my opinion."

"I am an outlier in SLC Valley and probably this review will depart from the rest of the rave reviewers (I suspect). That's because I travel a lot and eat amazing food all over the country. I am not easily impressed because I know San Francisco, New York, FL Cuban, Chicago (and NY) Pizza, TXBarbeque, LA Mediterranean, Nashville Modern and so on. What I find is that Utah eateries are SYNTHETIC. They try to mimic this amazing food but always get it wrong. They go through the motions but usually in bid to save money/costs, they screw the food all up. One example of this is keeping prepared food in walk-in refrigerators vs making it fresh! While this may save money and time it personally offends me.Sadly Makanmakan seems to follow this pattern. The food, while palatable, was forgettable. I ordered a clear noodle dish with jumbo prawn (few in there btw), smoked pork. I came as a mix mash of mostly goo. Not the distinguishable separate noodle, vegetable, and meat combination. See photo. Also the steamed rice, always a good barometer of quality was mushy. It seemed like Denny's rice! Wow. You should be doing high quality STICKY rice here. Again this is a restaurant cutting corners. The sticky rice costs more.Again it was palatable but forgettable. I find truly excellent food burns into your memory bank and you can't wait to get back to it. This place is nowhere near that. Add in a noisy concrete floor environment. Service was attentive however and commendable.But in the end I'm not sure I will ever return."

"I've had great experiences at the 3 different visits I've had to Royal India. The sauces were flavorful and meats tender. I often find that Indian places get away with the quality of chicken because it is swimming in sauce. However, Royal India has great chicken. The tikka masala is my favorite. Don't be fooled by the simple curb presence. Once you enter you can see how charming it is decorated. I recommend this place!"

"ss burgers are cooked for perfection, have the right amount of seasoned, and the Brioche beer is cut exactly right. the folded frits are decent. this place differs from other burger objects by offering wine and if they are in the mood for a soft drink, the strawberry limonade is excellent. the pumpkinshake has the best taste with the best texture, tastes just like mamas pumpkin cake. the service and the atmosphere are perfect for a beautiful day or night. "We finally got a chance to come here and we weren't disappointed! This is an authentic mom and pop restaurant. It was smaller than expected, but it was quaint and homey. I was blown away with how fresh and organic their food is. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching them make home made orange juice and shots of delicious, fresh juices. The staff were very courteous, hardworking, and on top of serving, taking orders, and payment. We were very impressed and would love to make this a monthly outing with the family."

I look at my receipt and realize they put white rice instead of fried rice, I did in fact ask for fried rice. I go inside to tell them it was a mistake. They fix that mistake no problem but they still miss the beef and broccoli??? A whole entire side just missing?? They’re usually really good and on top of their game so I’m just kind of confused why they forget the beef and broccoli after fixing the fried rice…."

"Best cookies and Gravy I have ordered in a restaurant, ever. I'm a breakfast food junkie, and we ordered breakfast Burrito and cookies and Gravy for $13, TOTAL 2 to feed very hungry people. The biscuits are fluffy, buttery and light (and vegan random) and the gravitation is the protein that I ever floated around with countless pieces of delicious sausage. I feel light after that and it was hard to decide whether we wound the breakfast Burrito more with its fluffy egg on the lining of the tortilla, bacon cut with mild salsa and potatoes perfectly cooked. JUST WOW, and if the breakfast items are these unforgettable, delicious and light in the intestine, I'm curious how delicious their sandwiches and salads could be!"

"I was here yesterday to eat something for me after a long day and mean man. I ordered two burritos. I asked for a mild sauce on both of them and was shocked when the hired had drowned over a cup sauce on both. I would have asked her to remake her, but both of them did not seem kind at all, and I know that it was the end of the night and they looked like they didn't want him there at all, so I thought it might be okay. I was soou wrong. the burritos were not even edible. my gums began to bleed as hot that was eating. I and my husband burned all the hours after we had only taken a few bites from our food and rejected the rest. we were both all at night with extremely bad breath pain and have been thrown up this morning. I never have a problem with spicy eating, but that was just terrible, I don't see how someone could have eaten it."

I got sesame chicken which tasted pretty good, but the two 3 sticks of asparagus and the two tiny chicken strips were nowhere near 17 dollars worth.. I was just as hungry when I left as I was when I got there. That was the disappointing part. The staff was very friendly though."
