"General: As every year, I met 7 colleagues on the Christmas market in St. Wendel. Christmas market in St. Wendel, i.e. also high-level business in all restaurants and unfortunately you cannot book tables this week in the restaurants of the city center, so I got a cancellation in the inn to Ochsen, in the Manin and also in the Café Journal. So I was glad to book a table in the “Syrtaki” right in front of the Christmas market Rudder. It was my first visit to Syrtaki. The Deligia family spoils its guests in the premises of the former Portofino restaurant in Kelsweilerstrasse with Greek specialities and promises authentic cuisine with Greek ingredients. Not much, new curtains, a new color in warm earth colours, the seating was largely taken over by the predecessor, everything looks like a little dusty in Portofino, but we felt comfortable, not least because of the friendly service in Syrtaki. We were operated by a beautiful Lord; the almost familiar family approach with the guests like – this is how to create regularity. The menu is very extensive, but still manageable, divided into soups, appetizers, salads, grilled pork, beef, poultry and lamb, baked dishes, but also an appealing selection of fish dishes. In addition, there is a regular lunch with prices between €6.50 for e.g. beef liver with roasted onions, fries and salads or €8.80 for seaweed fillet with butter rice, garlic cream and salad. Whoever has the choice has the torment. Like the menu, the drink card has a lot to offer. On the well-sorted wine map you will find wines from different regions of Greece like a white agioritikos from the monk community of Athos. As always, my choice fell on the wonderfully resinous Retsina 0.2l to 3.40 €, simply grilled. Pig fillets and pig fillets were ordered. Gyros in spicy sauce and baked with cheese, pepper steak, red bark with garlic cream, Piperia Florinis with feta, grilled peperoni and especially praised the liver pan, beef liver in metaxas sauce, with fresh herbs, potato slices and salad. My companions were very happy with their choice. I chose the “Helena Plate”, consisting of Gyros, 1 Suvlaki, 1 lamb with rice, Zaziki and salad at 14,80 €. With the first drinks came an ouzo in front of the house, a good, almost mild spoon and no spicy plaster. Then the side salads, a spicy seasoned mixture of fresh leaf salads, white and carrot rays, olive cucumber and tomato slices came. Very good. As already said, my companions were very satisfied. My Helena Teller was also a good choice. All ingredients were of good quality, the cook understands his craft; the rice was nicely loose, the Zaziki for diving was not to garlic and freshly creamy, the Suvlaki consisted of 3 small lean pigs steaks, which were perfectly diced like the piece of lambs and were beautifully tender and juicy on the point, as well as the abundant food has tasted. Bill € 156.20 for 8 people, this is cheap. I would like to recommend the Syrtaki. Conclusion: Greek cuisine authentic, solid, good and cheap."

"The “Saarschmecker” does not write at GastroGuide anymore. But our contact is still perfect, that counts. So I'm trying to involve some of the Saarland gastronomy. We finally wanted to meet again. The “Saarschmecker” proposed the oxen in St. Wendel. Wonderful that Simba47533 published a recite at that time and we looked down from a visit. 2nd Choice in St. Wendel: Da Anna. We picked up the “Saarschmeckers” at home and drove to St. Wendel. The restaurant was also chosen for the Saarschmeckers Neuland. The small quirky small town convinces with a delightful audience. The proximity to France is reflected in the attitude of life. “A baguette under your arm and the day is yours!” Thanks to the locality of the Saarschmecker there was a free parking and a small walk through the lively St. Wendel Kern Gastronomy. We reached the interior of the restaurant over a few steps of the attractive house. Our reservation was requested and we were accompanied in the pleasantly shared restaurant to the reserved table. It was clear: The sound scene in the healthy restaurant will certainly remain within the framework. This was absolutely confirmed during our visit. The simple wooden table with fresh rose, tea light, paper napkin covered with cutlery, salt and pepper mill for us. The menus were distributed and the young girl in the service already listed 1 bottle of mineral water, 0.75 l € 5,80 for us. Another bottle followed. We ran into the menu. These are not overloaded and yet diverse. Every guest should join. The “da Anna Team” is for a written greeting with the addition “as well as our enchanted students who support us as needed”. During our visit there was probably such a “desire day”, friendly young people were in any case and tried to meet the requirements. We had to comfort the young lady twice to take our food. The „Finger-Tipp-Feeling“, but the guests arrive and read, was unfortunately missing. Shortly after we had named our wishes, a “mirror” was served on the slate table. For each guest a loave with a well seasoned calfstatar. A wine was not allowed for dinner. My husband chose the Grauburgunder by Markus Schneider, Palatinate, dry, 0.2 l € 7.50. I opted for the year 2018 Riesling, winery Van Vloxem, Saar, dry, 0.2 € 6.90. We both know wineries, we didn't make a mistake. The Saarschmecker have opted for the appetizers for 2: Antipasti Misti – mixed appetizer for 2 persons € 12.50 (old homepage meanwhile € 13.50) Antipasti Mist you were happy with your appetizer. The components are designed for 2 persons, with the exception of Vitello Tonnato. My husband chose his favorite distance: Carpaccio: hauchzarte slices of beef fillet, Parmesan splinter, wild herbs Olive oil € 10.50 (l. homepage meanwhile € 12.50) The Carpaccio was very classically prepared. There was rocket instead of wild herbs. Good olive oil rounded off the taste, and fortunately Balsamicoschmierereien was removed. I was served as an appetizer with garlic €8.50. Currently not on the homepage. Why? Green saliva The green shells were also dressed with rocket. A slightly muffy taste of the bowls was not to be forgotten. So I forgot to try my friend Saarschmecker. In retrospect, he certainly considers a good decision. Fresh and airy Ciabatta was served by our appetizers. Our main dishes were served together and hot. Salami — Garlic (lightly sharp) Pizza Vanni Specials Both men said they missed the announced sharpness. The extremely thin pizza floor also reminded of a flame-cake finished blank. The dough flakes are cooled accordingly rapidly. With Mrs. Saarschmecker and PetraIOs Tagliatelle Bolognese € 9.50 » Beef, tomatoes, celery, onions, garlic, herbal family recipes were high expectations. Tagliatelle Bolognese The Tagliatelle beautiful al dente, so that the praise for this judgment was achieved. I'm not a fan of huge quantities of sauces that drown everything. But this dish was too dry and faded. This was not so well done and long boiled Bolognese. There are no such good family recipes. The prices of the most important foods are also increased, partly insignificant. The Bolognese is now prepared with Demeter beef from Bornwiesenhof. And not according to “family recipe”, but according to the recipe of the original! It's not a big Italian family. The rough black plate was like slate plates. The cutlery scratched and made unpleasant noises. Nice, but completely past practice. Go to the toilets via a staircase to the basement. The renovation must be clear. Two cabins with the ladies, the door of the free cabin completely displaced and could not be locked. I waited until the second cabin was released. One of the “holy” employees leaving the cabin probably didn’t ask why I wait. And then I left the empty paper towel dispenser. Caution and attention are different. It was a really nice warm late summer day. Unfortunately, the windows in the small space could not be opened, the ventilation is probably switched off. The air was not better in the evening, so we paid very soon after the meal. A billing expression was difficult to complete. After a small “in and out” an info complete print was possible for our 4 tables. The best way to go home shortly after we put the Saarschmecker at home: staple inability and stomach pain with me. I was glad when we came home! After about 1 hour it went better. I was the only one of us who certainly had problems with the food. The green shells were taken as suspects because I only ate them. Lucky for the Saarschmecker, who was not allowed to taste. And perhaps the reason why they are no longer found on the current map. This is incomprehensible to me in frozen goods. Conclusion: Plenty of air up. After St. Wendel we don't have to drive extra."

"in the early 2021, his restaurant opened in the lively and beautiful st. wendel. a more difficult approach, in which the middle of the locking phase. but I guess the pickup was good. contact to (although unfortunately) ex gastroguide colleagues and his lovers remain constant. and the good friends thought of me in a temporary “seed phase”. they have proposed dinner in the censor. I didn't have to think about it, and I said right away. as agreed, I picked these two on Friday. under local guide went st. wendel, including parking finder-sider know, after st. wendel. in the beautiful city there was something wrong on this (the few) beautiful summer evening. it seemed to me that st. cuddly, including around, had arrived. the joy of men was clearly visible, and we were also satisfied. Nevertheless, we were uninhabited after the long lockdown phase and we hoped that with the numerous fresh air guests everything remains free from covid contagious. the small old town with a lot of gastronomy really has a particularly beautiful, almost Mediterranean, flair. “Saarschmecker” led to asiate in a very non-Mediterranean way. for us 3 the first visit. the outside area of the restaurant was already well visited. our reservation was requested and we were kindly shown our table in the outside area of the pedestrian zone. contact data acquisition, either by luca or by note, absolute error. placed, cards enough. for mrs. saarschmecker and me remained sushi at the front. herr saarschmecker has been thinking. our foods and drinks: 2 bottles of mineral water, 0.75 l € 5,50. mineral water remained my choice tonight. 4 white-burgundy, 0.2 l € 4.50 for the saarschmecker and the cousin, who came randomly after our meal, we knew a beautiful coincidence! the wee came very well with my companions. as starter we ordered to share: edamame € 4,50 and 2 served vegetarian mini spring rolls per € 3,00. the appetizers were served after a short waiting period. in soybeans, they can make nix wrong, but the crisp salt was missing. edamame the feeling rolls were in order, but how expensive to anticipate convenienceware that I have experienced worse. vegetarian mini spring rolls along with the edamame a beautiful nasty ahead. Ex-collegin saarschmecker was not present at the sushi girls. he ordered armored chicken fillet with 8 estimate for € 10,00. woman saarschmecker and I have chosen myself free from the sushi offer. for both of us we ordered susi for a total of 56,60 €. the sushi menus were cheaper, but always with fried sushi. for me it remains a fried rice fish food and no sushi. if wings come, it is even more twisted. during the waiting period we could observe that almost exclusively sushi was served at the side tables. the nitrogen mist was not picked. I don't need it. how does the kitchen control these sushi? first the 8 were served. as appetizing and good as it saw, “Saarschmecker” praised his choice. well-kept chicken fillet with 8 delicious juicy chickens with crispy hood, crunchy Asian vegetables and rice. described as sharp in the menu. the sharp was there, well hit without the taste of the ingredients. his satisfaction was understandable. his companions served the ordered sushi on 2 plates – fortunately nebulized. our sushi choice 1 nigiri with salmon and tuna. maki with tuna and salmon. inside: salmonskin: lachshaut grilled,Gurke, mayonnaise unagi sauce and sesame ebi tempura: baked garnel, avocado, mayonnaise unagi sauce and sesame chrispy tiger: garnelen in tempura coat, mango, avocado, philadelphia. sushi choice 2, front futo maki: 5 pieces filled with salmon, thunfish, mango, avocado, gurke and tobiko, as landscape I know the Japanese dresses more of sashimi. Both plates were colorful with sharp salate. unfortunately there were also acid ornaments over the sushi. the salat would not have hurt a marinade for this. sushi wahl 2, backside cost us both. but sushi is better. Of course, the sushireis was very loose due to the great demand and so when eating the full concentration was asked to separate the sushi on the way to mouth. the rice would have had a bit more salt and vinegar. the fishing effort was calculated profit-oriented. I promised more about the grilled salmon skin. eing works in the inside out roll under the look of the salmon skin. served in contrast to the chicken fillet with supplements, fell the price of the performance ratio for sushi. the two parts were not too big, we were pleasantly saturated. service staff was in the field tonight. the employees are searched everywhere, here they can probably win young people for the company. partially uncoordinated and certainly not qualified workers. but always friendly despite long pists. friendly we passed and strolled comfortably through the beautiful old town to the parking lot. for the ambiente, no appreciation as I have not seen the interiors. I'll be back any time. for sushi I would try it on a quiet day. Perhaps the small deficits were due to the large demand this evening. but also the warm Asian dishes could lure me."
