Bennington Station - Meny

This great restaurant in an historic old railroad station closed in the spring of 2018. The owners retired and, to my knowledge, nobody else has opened a restaurant in the same location as late as January, 2023. The building, on the registry of historic places is privately owned. It offered amazing food including fresh seafood and prime rib. We always at there when we were in Bennington and were very sorry to see that it had reached the end of an era.

We came to Bennington station with a fairly large party of 8. We were seated immediately and served super quickly too. Our server was very nice and was on point. Everything came out exactly as we wanted. We had a few appetizers and I have to say the breaded clams were my favorite of the ones I tried but you should try the baked Brie because that was delicious as well. For my entree I ordered the pasta with scallops, shrimp and lobster. I honestly can't remember what it was called but it was great. Oh and did I mention their amazing salad bar? Huge! Tons of fresh veggies and a lot of toppings to choose from. Oh and their bread? Yum! Definitely a good restaurant to eat at in Bennington. Not yo...

I'm back on the road in New England, and this time my sister was able to take a day off from work to join my Dad and I on one of our famous excursions. She was anxious to visit a famous hand-crafted pottery store in Bennington, Vermont, and so we drove over the mountains from upstate NY in search of a place to eat before the shopping. The Bennington Railroad Station began construction in 1897. The train depot was constructed of rough finished blue marble giving it the appearance of granite. The marble was quarried in West Rutland and was hand cut, then shipped to the site by locomotive.
