"We stopped in around noon and we’re seated at the counter where the waitress greeted us, asked if it was our first time and gave us some great recommendations based on my wife’s soy allergy. We both had the chef salad with lemon garlic vinaigrette, my wife had a small salad and I had the large… if you have the large you had better be hungry. All the ingredients were obviously fresh the ham and turkey were thick pieces cut into cubes) and the lemon garlic dressing was truly amazing. You can tell the locals love this place by the whole wall of named coffee cups and because the waitresses seemed to know most people’s orders already. If you are visiting Wimberly, you have to stop in. PS, the desserts looked amazing but we were too full from the salads."

"The Leaning Pear never disappoints! The menu is not overwhelming, but has a satisfactory variety of seasonal flavors. Absolute BEST wedge salad everywhere (the dried figs MAKE the shell). Pizzas are baked in an authentic pizza oven and have interesting and unexpected ingredients. The crab cake is delicious and enormous (definitely a deer portion). The Maurerjar cheesecake is served with fresh strawberries and a delicious Balsamico reduction sauce. We make it a point to visit twice when we are in Wimberley."

"This is the best restaurant in Wimberley! EVERYTHING on the menu will be good, just order something you would not normally order and you will be happy surprised! This is where our honeymoon appears and so impressed! We ate dinner and then came back to brunch! The flavors, the presentation, the local ingredients, the service, even the live music.. I can't expect to come back to the city so we can eat again, it really bleeded us away and I would highly recommend!"

"Started off great with a Sparkling Rose, the atmosphere was beautiful and the decor was very pretty. We waited about 40 minutes for an outdoor spot, which was understandable being it was a Friday afternoon post thanksgiving. We sat down and waited...still waited, about 25 minutes passed and no one came to even serve any water. I had to flag down the hostess and let her know we hadn 't been helped yet. Someone finally appears (without apologies for the wait pours us some water and leaves. First of all, my water did not look clean not sure if it was the cup or water, but I was not about to drink it. Second: my 11 year old found a HAIR floating in his water come on...really? When I told the waitress she barely even knew what to do and hardly acknowledged it or even apologized for the unacceptable water. Isn 't this an issue THEY are supposed to know how to deal with?? We also asked them twice to turn on the space heater for us (it was getting cold out , both excuses were that the manager was the only one who knew how to do it. It was never turned on, we never saw the manager once. We also only saw our waitress maybe about 2 3 times. Never asked how our food was, didn 't check on us, she just came to drop the check... Food was OK. Hummus was tasty, veggies and pitas were nothing special. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich with cucumber side salad, which were also OK. Chicken was a bit dry, bun wasn 't that great wish the bun tasted fresher (it 's all about the bun! . All in all, I wish the service and food were as good as the ambiance and drinks were (music was great too . Whether they were Short staffed or not, there 's no excuse for poorly trained staff. We 've gone to places that were much busier than this with excellent customer service. isn 't that why restaurants are considered to be in the HOSPITALITY category!?"

"We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the Leaning Pear, and they did such a phenomenal job accommodating us, despite the challenge that the AC had gone out in the restaurant just a day or two prior to our event there (we were planning to be inside). They tried their best to have it repaired in time, though it wasn't possible and we understood that it was out of their control. To make it up to us, they did at least refund the space rental fee we had paid, which was great. Even though it was a bummer not to be inside as planned, we just flowed with it anyway, and they moved our party into the breezy screened in patio area instead with a bunch of fans, and it was totally fine. It can be challenging for servers with a party of 32 like we had, but they did an awesome job the servers were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious too. This is a great venue to consider for your private events, and we will be back again in the future!"
