"We ate at Joey’s Seafood twice … once on our way to Isle Royale Natl Park we enjoyed it so much we stopped again on our return! Two nights in Houghton, two nights at Joeys! We both loved the blackened shrimp and for $15.99 (and 9 medium/large shrimp) it was a great value! We both loved the sautéed almandine vegetables, salads. I have to mention the cornbread normally I don’t eat cornbread (or any bread with a meal) but this was so moist and tasty, I ate the whole muffin… twice! Sean was our server and was professional, efficient and delightful. I can’t recall our 1st servers name but she was equally good. If you’re on your way (or returning from) Isle Royale, treat yourself to Joey’s!"

The place is ABSOLUTELY cute inside. We ALL had a different meal and we ALL loved our meals. One had Blackened Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, one had Almond Encrusted Walleye, and Baked Whitefish. We also had the Crab Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. We would be regulars if we lived here. Highly recommend!

Great, large, crispy battered fish, the seasoned fries were a favorite for the kids, and the Lobster Alfredo was a hit for the pasta lover in our family. We got there just as the dinner rush started and the food came out surprisingly fast. The wait staff was on top of everything, and managed the crowd well.

"Have never had Detroit style pizza, but have been thinking of it for years. I've just never been a fan of thicK crusted pizza after having disappointing slices at supposedly famously tasting pies in a few Chicago landmarks, where the best is supposed to hail from..it was always too much crust, and the crust just didn't stand out, nor did the rest of the pizzas sampled. I imagine those places were spectacular when they first came out, but quality went downhill as business went up and they just couldn't proved the same consistent quality of product. So with that in mind and traveling solo before I came in I was planning on getting a sandwich, because I really wanted to try the garlic park fries and the glowing reviews were raving about those as much as the pie. Plus, I wasn't sure I wanted leftovers to have in the car for my trip south to Ironwood. Well, when I walked in and saw the special a large Pepperoni for $11 that usually costs about twice as much..I had to rethink things! Super nice gal with a ton of positive energy was multitasking with aplomb at the register, and taking phone calls while handing out many carry out orders, while manning the counter..whoa should I have used another word so as not to trigger a soft headed reader with my mansplaining term? Ah well, cancel thee. Anyway, having a moment like Larry David, where he starts getting indigestion about what to order, I went with my gut, and tried the super good deal, adding pineapple to the Pepperoni, (because I'm that guy). It was love at first bite, as I bit into the spongy, perfectly cheesed ratio crust..a hint of the best cheesy garlic bread, mixed in with the perfect pepperoni crunch, slightly cooled with the acidity of pineapple, while the tomato sauce danced lightly in the background, just out of the peripherals of the taste buds, enough to contribute a taste verse, but not sing out of tune. After 3+ hours of hiking I had in mind to eat the whole pie in one sitting..though after a few slices it was obvious it wasn't to be (unless I shape-shifted into Joey Chesnut) for the slices were just too generous. So I fell two large slices short of finishing it, but I would have fell four with any of tasting pizza, because I was well full after the first half of the pie, but just couldn't stop biting into that beckoning crust, taunting the taste buds with it's delicacy. So I got a to go box, and what a pleasant surprise that turned out to be later that night (after smoking a big fatty at a cabin In the woods near Black River Falls). As I was sauteeing some carrots, onions and garlic for a lentil stew on the cast iron, the pizza was an afterthought, and I wasn't even that hungry yet, but decided I'd microwave a slice, which disrespects the pizza, but I was stoned. Well, after I pulled that puppy out of the microwave and bit in I was astonished at how good the pizza was reheated; the crust remained magical, and the other slice was reheated and sacrificed shortly after, with a spirit dance to commemorate and thank the Pizza Gods so that it could be eaten again some day. I just have to throw one last shout out for the light, spongey crust..the finest pizza crust you could imagine; the only crust that comes close is that of a perfectly construed homemade sourdough. The best pizza I've ever had."
