"HERVORRAGEND! Traditional German cuisine, smoked/drilled by real wood stove with real beech wood. They taste it right away. If you want to eat something in the city center of Idar Oberstein, you can either have a medium kitchen to pay the beautiful marketplace view or eat everywhere and all current Diner Shops, Asia Restaurant, Greek... or use the rare opportunity to enjoy traditional German cuisine at the highest level. The view and the entrance of the oldest semi-concrete house in the city already traditionally conveys German cosiness. A guest house, as I know from my youth, cozy, original, timeless with a pleasant atmosphere. You get from the owners who are also the chefs. Direct contact to the cook is no longer self-evident After a Cappucino we ordered in peace, there is no rush. I chose beef steak with roast potatoes and salad and a cream sauce (own desire), my wife for carrots ginger soup and spit roast lambs with oven potatoes. They immediately taste the typical smoky beech taste of the wood stove, which immediately raised childhood memories with me; unfalse and natural. The steak was as well grilled as high quality. No supermarket or cheap wholesale standard items are served here. The spit roast was as delicate as juicy and seasoned with herbs. The fact that foods were equally common to us is that no chemical additives, plasticizers and finished detergents are required. Our conclusion: It is rare to find a traditional German restaurant at all. This is then to be found with wood stove kitchen, where actually grilled on beech wood with high quality food, fresh herbs / ingredients, where nothing is spiced out, this is an absolute rarity. I could recommend five good Italians, three good Asian restaurants, but only a German restaurant where everything convinces. We thank you for the excellent and tasty tasting, a meal that will stay in my best memory for a long time and wish the cook a lot of joy and success with this exceptional restaurant, which is just a 2-minute walk from the marketplace behind the Mineral Museum."
