"The location was excellent for my event: going to a concert at Cornish. The food could definitely be improved. We ordered: Lamb dumplings, Yu Choy with chilies and garlic, and Twice-cooked pork. The Lamb dumplings tasted good, but the filling was dry and course-textured. It could’ve benefited from additional fat and stirred with a chopstick to create a springy texture. The greens were undercooked (they should’ve been blanched first), the handful of chillies were not lightly browned and infused into the oil (in spite of all the chilies, the dish was not spicy), and the sliced garlic was undercooked and overwhelming. Rockfish was delicious! The throwback hiphop soundtrack was such a good vibe and perfect for our birthday party of 9. Food is served family style and our waiter was very helpful and attentive. I would definitely come back to try the other dishes.

How did I not realize that this wonderful restaurant has been here since 2015? Because we always went to Poppy. An early dinner at Lionhead was excellent. Good choices of beers on tap. Silky Eggplant cold appetizer was perfectly cooked, slithered down. The whole trout was delicious, and our server expertly boned it at the start, removing the backbone, but (of course, it's trout) lots of bones remained, so be forewarned. The crowning dish was the Steamed Silken Tofu in a dynamite sauce. They don't offer a sorbet for dessert, which would have been perfect, but my husband enjoyed the Fried Bao Bites. Great wait staff, attractive room. Looking forward to a return.
