"Visiting from San Francisco. We had ceviche and fish of the day. One of the best seafood places that I have gone to in the US.Ceviche was served with homemade chips. Very delicious.The fish of the day was Black Sea bass prepared with butter, lemon and garlic. Very deliciousThe server was very nice and welcoming."

The views from this restaurant are absolutely amazing!!! Food was OK nothing special! Service not so good! But overall we made the best of it !!

Zach the chef is outstanding. Food was great. Sunset views are one of a kind in ocean beach. When on the east end of Ocean Beach, Pass the other restaurants and make the Hideaway your first stop!

"I usually don't write reviews, but my experience at the Island Mermaid was outstanding. Between the food, the service, and the view it was amazing. The server was this beautiful polite blonde, I think her name was Laura not sure. She was awesome, everything was done in a timely fashion and she kept the drinks coming and checked on our table frequently. My friend and I split the fried calamari for an appetizer which was to die for, cooked perfectly golden and crispy seasoned just right. I had the crab cakes as my entree, which were also delicious, not fishy cooked and seasoned perfectly. My friend had their freshly house made vegetable burger, which I had to try because it looked so good and tasted even better. The food and the service were amazing, I had such a great time stayed even after we ate to get some drinks and watch the beautiful sunset right off the deck from our table. The entire deck where we were sitting and all the tables over looks the bay makes for a lovely and romantic view. I would go back in a heart beat !!"

"We love the Albatross! Many great menu choices, AND, rotating specials daily. This is not typical in Ocean Beach so we look forward to dining here and enjoying the food. Cocktails are delicious. As do most of the restaurants in Ocean Beach, this place turns into quite a bar scene with club music and a DJ after 10:00 p.m."

"We tried the lobster roll but were disappointed with the stale bread and sad, chewy lobster. We would not eat here again. The service was average. We dined in for dinner and spent between $50-100 per person. The atmosphere was pleasant with a rating of 5."

"Castaway is a great restaurant. They had a loud but not bad band playing live music, good vibe, good drinks, and the food was good. However if you go for dinner beware. The food is good but the chef LOVES pepper. I’ve been here twice, ordered a chicken pasta in 2021 and mahi mahi sandwich in 2022 (the menu changes so that’s a fun surprise and both times the food was peppered to all hell. Chef thinks you can only blacken/char the food if you cover every inch with black pepper. The food was still good but please do a little less with the black pepper chef . Much love"
