"I have dined at The Vandal close to 15 times and can confidently say, it is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The menu rotates frequently, with new dishes hitting every few weeks, so even as a somewhat regular, there’s always something new and intriguing to try. The oysters are always fresh, the steak tartare is always executed perfectly, and the flavors, ingredients and complexity of every other menu item is always superb. I love that they feature thoughtful non-alcoholic cocktails to round out their alcoholic counterparts. I love the natural lighting and minimalistic vibe. The service is always welcoming, kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. I do suggest making a reservation."

Great venue with a view of the kitchen. Menu is exceedingly seasonal — dated to the day of your visit — and lovingly prepared. Dishes were varied and full-bodied, the atmosphere was elevated but exceedingly unpretentious. Highly recommend! On downside: it’s quite warm inside on a summer day. Not a dealbreaker at all, but if you’re sensitive to heat, request the seat under the A/C!

I love the Vandal. It was my second time there. It's a cozy upscale place with a thoughtful menu. I like to dine by myself, and the bar is great for solo dining there. Service is really attentive. The food was fantastic. I had oysters to start, a fish entree, and a strawberry rhubarb Eton mess for dessert I wish it had slightly more rhubarb! All in all it was delicious and the vibes were immaculate.
