"Having been here three times, Abe Fisher was a phenomenal experience each time, taking Jewish Ashkenazi food to unprecedented heights. I’m so sad they are closing. The menu during my last visit was the “Greatest Hits” menu. The service was incredible, Justin was the best waiter we ever had in Center City. We started off with the Roll Right In cocktail which was magical with the za’atar finish. Then the challah rolls came in with the spreads, each delicious. Then came the roasted sweet potatoes and the heirloom tomato caesar salad, both were very tasty. Then came the latke fries which are the best I’ve tried. Then came the veal schnitzel tacos which are some of the best tacos my gf and I hav...

We had a great dinner based on recommendations from the bar tender and wait staff. I can 't believe Abe Fisher never turned up on our many restaurant searches for Philly. Luckily we found them just before they close on July 1 to remodel for more of a fine dinning venue, which will be our first restaurant to visit during our next trip to Philly after their planned August opening.

After living in Philadelphia for 4+ years it sucks that I've only gotten to visit this restaurant once I moved. It was wonderful. The food is great and really fills a different sort of niche in Philly. The restaurant itself is cool and sleek and our waiter was awesome. Super knowledgeable with the menu, attentive, and also just seemed like an incredibly nice dude. I'm so bummed it's closing it was an awesome experience.

We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and were really blown away! Our server Jasper had such a great attention to detail and added so many personal touches to our meal that we genuinely feel there is no better place to spend a birthday. The food was SO good. We are big drinkers and barely drank two drinks each the food was so good we just wanted to focus on that The short ribs as everyone says are the best but the challah rolls are special too. This is a must go restaurant.

"We were there celebrating two birthdays. Our server Faith was wonderful. She was attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a table of 6 and ordered quite a bit of food, some of which was great and others lackluster. The bao buns were great and the small calamari salad was huge and those who had it said delicious. The spareribs were good as well as the edamame dumplings, although the way those were served made it hard to fully enjoy. Each dumpling should be on a individual type spoon so you can enjoy the soup part as well as the dumpling. The way they were served in one large bowl with only one spoon made it so the soup part is left at the bottom. I did request extra spoons from the expediter but they never came. The worst part of our appetizer course was somehow an item was switched to another in the computer and served to us. It had shellfish in it and that wasn’t known when someone at our table who doesn’t eat shellfish ate it. The sashimi was good but the tuna tartare thing was really bad. The entrees we had were the duck, which I was told was delicious, the miso cod, which was fishy, the whole fish which was tasteless, the lobster fried rice, which was okay but lacking flavor. The best dish was the black pepper beef, it was delicious and elegantly served. We had all the sides and all were quite good especially the eggplant and the wasabi mashed potatoes. It was a nice evening but it felt a little stale for a Starr restaurant."
