Great food, very interesting combinations of flavors. Drinks were also pretty good! The only thing I found out was the ambience: the interior design of the place is somewhat strange. It wants to be warm and exotic, but the light and furniture feel cold and unwilling.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go here for a while now. We’ve become somewhat of vegan foodies throughout our relationship and love to try vegan spots we haven’t been to yet. With that being said, our experience at Black Flamingo was good but not great. We left disappointed. We ordered a few tacos each and ordered a main entree each. All of the tacos were amazing and delicious, and for $4 each during Happy Hour we loved it. However, the same can not be said for our entrees. My boyfriend ordered the Flutas and upon our first few bites we realized it needed A LOT more seasoning and spice then what we were served. It wasn’t the crazy, knock my socks off, oh my god I need to return every day for the next week feeling that I usually have for places I give 5 stars to, but it was solidly solid.The atmosphere and service were 5.The pao de paneer would be a skip- it was good but not substantially different from the Brazilian cheese bread it’s based off of. The chutneys were good, but again, nothing I would order again.Our mains were delicious! I would call the things we had vaguely Indian- it’s not clearly Indian like some of the other contemporary Indian restaurants in the city. Both dishes were great though! I haven’t had anything like either of those dishes!The cake was delicious- moist and dense and wonderful.Overall, we are excited to return some time! "The gigantic guava donut topped with cream cheese is simply amazing. I'd like to go back to try some of their other unique donut flavors (such as hibiscus and dulce de leche). We also ate empanadas: one with egg and cheese, and the other with guava and cheese. The latte was on point too. Unfortunately, they don't use any real plates, cups, or cutlery, so everything is packed in cardboard boxes, even if you're eating in. Despite it all being biodegradable, it would still be better for the environment (and customers eating in) to use real cutlery, plates, cups, etc. Overall though, a cheery, bright café to enjoy your vegan breakfast. "Incredible little place for a quick, healthy, perfectly filling meal. It seems like a weird location but it's easy to get to. I had the tofu bento box, which comes with two sides, and two onigiri. For the onigiri I had an original and an ume one. They were incredible. Sometimes onigiri can be dry, or you don't get some of the filling in each bite but these were perfect. The rice wasn't dry at all but was properly sticky and almost creamy. Also the ume wasn't just a pickled plum, it was a great tart paste. For a drink I got the yuzu koshi. It tasted like a very light yuzu soda; not too sweet, and not too carbonated. It was really refreshing and delicious so make sure to try it! Will definitely be returning here."
