"My two girlfriends and I had Afternoon Tea at the Rittenhouse on Sunday and we could not have enjoyed our experience more! The atmosphere was lovely, as the courtyard was in full bloom on such a beautiful day. The staff was extremely accommodating and paid close attention to our food allergies. My one friend is pregnant and cannot have smoked meats/fish, so they prepared her own plate with similar sandwiches. I have a soy allergy, which is included in most chocolates, so the kitchen prepared special desserts just for me. All of the food was delicious! We had such a wonderful time and all agreed that we need to come back to do it again!"

Gorgeous tea service. Outstanding staff, great selection of teas for every palate. Savories and sweets were beautiful, clever, and delicious. They accommodated my vegetarian son graciously. The harpist was the perfect touch.

The cappuccino is so rich even with soy milk! There is a crowd here, but still half of these people are working on their laptops. Good mix of social and getting down to work. The lighting is pretty dim but that doesn't seem to bother anyone here. Only thing is that I wish there was more seating..

This place was just lovely. I had a wonderful time going here with my neighbors and would absolutely go back. It is expensive but I really enjoyed the experience and felt it was well worth it. There was a beautiful harp being played in the background which added tranquillity. Service was excellent and they made you feel special. The food was yummy and filling. My favorite part was the dessert (of course). I forget which tea I ordered but I really loved it. My friends also had a great time. There's just something about dressing up and going for afternoon tea that is so enjoyable.

"We were there celebrating two birthdays. Our server Faith was wonderful. She was attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a table of 6 and ordered quite a bit of food, some of which was great and others lackluster. The bao buns were great and the small calamari salad was huge and those who had it said delicious. The spareribs were good as well as the edamame dumplings, although the way those were served made it hard to fully enjoy. Each dumpling should be on a individual type spoon so you can enjoy the soup part as well as the dumpling. The way they were served in one large bowl with only one spoon made it so the soup part is left at the bottom. I did request extra spoons from the expediter but they never came. The worst part of our appetizer course was somehow an item was switched to another in the computer and served to us. It had shellfish in it and that wasn’t known when someone at our table who doesn’t eat shellfish ate it. The sashimi was good but the tuna tartare thing was really bad. The entrees we had were the duck, which I was told was delicious, the miso cod, which was fishy, the whole fish which was tasteless, the lobster fried rice, which was okay but lacking flavor. The best dish was the black pepper beef, it was delicious and elegantly served. We had all the sides and all were quite good especially the eggplant and the wasabi mashed potatoes. It was a nice evening but it felt a little stale for a Starr restaurant."
