"I visited a friend for the first time at Champy's on Thursday evening, April 13, 2017. We started with the Tamales, which were a pleasant surprise. They were served in corn husks with a beautiful sauce, great taste, and a bit of a kick. Next, we tried the fried chicken fries, which were incredibly hot and fresh. The fries had a crispy exterior and fluffy insides, while the chicken was perfectly fried with crispy skin and tender meat. It reminded me of my grandmother's fried chicken. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time, and I am so glad that I finally did. The atmosphere is very friendly and interesting, the service was quick and the staff were all smiles, and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the catfish, and unlike most places where it is overcooked and greasy, it was light, flaky, well-seasoned, and perfectly crunchy. The hush puppies were smaller than I expected, but they were crispy and flavorful. The beer selection was great, and the staff were knowledgeable about the options available. I stayed to enjoy the live music by the Sassy Brown Blues band and had a fantastic time. I can't wait to come back again!
