"This rather empty boite is beautifully appointed. The food is well done, the staff good, the WiFi fast. The dumpling sampler was disappointing, but the plum wine was excellent, and the kung pao chicken was good. The rice should be fresher, so it isn't tough. The fact that they also serve a separate crab seafood menu is bizarre but welcoming. It is essentially two restaurants in one.Parking: The parking lot is adjacent and under an adjoining residential tower. The exit is by the restaurant. The entrance is further down."

"Part of me wants to keep this hidden gem all to myself, but the other part knows that when you encounter something really special, you have to share it. Umami Sushi is incredibly unassuming but the food and service is top notch. We love coming here with- and without- our kids, and can confidently say it’s one of the best Omakase experiences we’ve ever had. I promise you won’t be disappointed! "I don't like writing negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant on my birthday, October 18, 2022, was very disappointing. We didn't receive our dinner until around 8:30, even though we had a reservation for 7:15, and we didn't get our drinks until after our entrees. The service was very slow and it was difficult to get the attention of the servers. The cocktail tasted strange and was lukewarm. Aside from the chili chicken, which was mostly good, all of the food had an unpleasant taste. Even the papadum was overpowering, and the basmati rice had a taste that was almost like mold or heavily chlorinated water. The flavors were unbalanced, lacking salt, tang, or being too sweet. It's possible that the dishes were prepared to suit regional or more Americanized tastes, but I found them to be off or even spoiled. The staff did accommodate my seating request and were fairly friendly, but it seemed they prioritized takeout orders over in-house patrons. It was a very unfortunate experience. Proceed with caution if booking a table here."
