"Have dined there numerous times during the past year. Most dishes are very good. Some tend to be heavy handed instead of light and delicate. Chicken Picata is one example. Still it was tasty. All the apps are tasty and properly portioned. Wine selection is better than average and fairly priced. All up this is a fairly pricey restaurant that is worth the wait and cost. The views are excellent and there are two small lounges with a big warm fireplace. The waitstaff are nothing short of excellent and attentive."

"The food in Primo is excellent. In Primo we have eaten several times in recent years and both the menu and the food are consistently very creative and well executed. However, the service can be met or miss. This new year's eve, it was more of a miss. This did not seem to be a consequence of being excessively busy, it was not. We were there when it was much more business. We had reservations, and although there were empty tables when we arrived, we wanted to wait in the bar until our table was ready. We sat 30 minutes after our reserved time. The waiting staff is pleasant, but on this occasion does not meet our expectations for the level of service we enjoyed there before and have come to expect prices (our bill was over $300.00 [including a 20% tip] for two without dessert or a bottle of wine). Examples of the less than expected performance obviously contain empty glasses at the edge of the table are not deleted until after several visits on the table are deleted by server/wait staff, no refilling of water glasses by waiting personnel; we did it ourselves, and food (complementary pre-Meal appetizers) on the table of runners without description of what was placed. It seems as if the staff tried, but was not sufficiently trained to provide the level of service that should be provided to make this a truly 1st class experience. Here, too, this seems rather to be a function that you get as anything else. We used to be there and had excellent services. The service was fair, only not what we expect at the calculated prices. Nevertheless, we will come back because the food is good enough to overlook the unconsistent quality of the service, just as often as we would otherwise. It is unlikely that we will return for dinner at the New Year's Eve."

"First, Ada 's does not likely take on those without reservations. From the view of the host's face when you wait at 7:30 on foot to the 45min. We stood outside and saw the restaurant empty before they sat at the bar. The worst thing is not even my experience! I experienced a group of 8 getting told to wait a 30min, go back when visible tables are empty, a big cancellation said, just called and 30 minutes later this group will place. The table was ready for over 20 minutes. In addition! A hostess named Jen calls the waitress to the table and the main hostess to play a game with the group of 8 that are just sitting. My wife and I eat our meal and left before the whole table got their full drink order. Man I feel bad for the table of 8. If you do not expect a bad service from here. Not all are treated equally, especially if you have a reservation. it is the summer in Maine. Ada may not need the money if they treat people like them in a beautiful summer night."

"fantastic service with an extensive menu. we share a garden omelet, two blueberries pancakes and a side of speck. all delicious. meghan was our server we ate at the desk. there is a good looking terrace with sail-like sun protection cover. parking is small, but we found a place on the road. there is a two-hour limit."

"Okay, the Blues Festival is over. Today I went to the Brass Compass for breakfast (today also 20). Those who know me well know my passion for Eggs Benedict. Of course I ordered them, but the lobster version. I have to say I haven't experienced anything better! The eggs cooked for perfection, the Hollandaise sauce was perfect and homemade too! English muffins cooked exactly right, not too little too much. Just right, not to cry out the flow of perfectly stabbed eggs as soon as they were broken! Overrun by the eggs was a huge part of lobster, which was warm and delightful on my palette. The lobster lasted until the end. The cup of fresh fruit with the meal was very delicious and had a wide selection of fruits! I can see myself driving from Bucksport (48 miles) more often here. Also the note, this place (The Brass Compass) won a drop with Bobby Flay. The owner and chef beat him in a Lobster Club sandwich competition. It was on the food channel network. If you are ever in Rockland, watch over and enjoy a piece of heaven!"
