"it was always my axiom that in Germany good, cheap foods can be enjoyed in a random hospit in a random city. the city of alzenau, where we spent one night on the way to Austria, came wonderfully through. during the walk through the charming Alzenau-Zentrum... we decided to sit in the outside area of the gasthof old post to dinner. (It was wonderful weather). my assessment after the meal: 5 points from 5, an evaluation with which I am cautious in my reviews. the local beer: cold and refreshing. the salad: fresh and tasty. the main course, ratsherrenschnitzel well prepared and a good example for the good bourgeois cake (good house kitchen). the service was everything you can desire, courteous, fast and error-free. what a difference with the service in the lowlands, which is usually bumbled and sometimes even unsurpassed. the bill was very reasonable. old post turned out to be a perfect choice for dinner, but did I mention that this is simply in Germany?"
