"If you're like me and come from a Sicilian family, you will be transported back to your grandmother's kitchen when you look over the menu for Gira Polli. To be honest, I could not believe at first that several dishes served here would ever find their way into an American restaurant! Their caprese with anchovies! their meatballs, the eggplant dish, and the cannolis are all done just right. As I told the hostess on my way out, I felt as warm and content as I used to after one of Grandma's dinners back in St. Louis."

Was here last week with two friends and this place did not leave me with much to want to come back. Temperature was hot; no AC that I could feel working [had to remove my jacket and was still hot]; food was OK nothing outstanding; no real child chair -just a booster. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Missing real goo italian quality from NYC or Boston's North End.

The bruschetta appetizer was wonderful, as was the pasta with puttanesca and also the gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce (entrees my husband and son ordered). The eggplant parmigiana was not available, so I tried the fish special which was just ok. Unfortunately, the cannoli dessert I wanted was also not available so I opted for the lemon cheesecake also just ok. My son's chocolate mousse cake was much better. Service was perfect attentive and responsive, but not too much.
