"So when I got to Sitka I really wasn't expecting too many fine dining establishments. I did a little bit of shopping and I got pretty hungry when I saw this place and decide to give it a try. So when I walked in on the right hand side I see a crepe bar on the left side I see a whole bunch of baked goods. This place has a little bit of this and a little bit of that a bar and a small gift shop and pretty good food. This spot reminds me of a restaurant in Temecula, Ca called E.A.T market which is like a farm to table restaurant. Homeport is very simple but offers so much goodness for a reasonable price. Though well traveled by tourists, this shop makes real deli sandwiches. Getting a good Reuben outside of New York is tough enough (hard to find one in Seattle, though they do exist), but you can get a good one at the Homeport in Sitka. This is a good place to get a sandwich, and they have tables in the back where you can usually find a seat.

So I have mixed reviews about this place. My brother actually ordered Rueben sandwich that came with a pickle and potato chips. Everything about this sandwich was delicious! He only ordered the half order but it seems like it is definitely filling. I, on the other hand, decided to try out the Alaskan crepe at the other place. The girl suggested that I get buckwheat crepe because it went well with the salmon. I was sadly disappointed as the buckwheat tasted like cardboard and there was not enough salmon in it. I barely tasted anything and you would think for roughly $11 they would stuff. If I came here again, I would stick to the sandwiches

Consider this a wee public market with at least three separate vendors blending in to one another: coffee shop, juice/raw/organic and a sandwich and salad business. During our two visits I had the pleasure of ordering a french dip sandwich, raw zucchini noodles and thai peanut sauce and two smoothies. Be forewarned, prices are especially on the high end at the juice bar. The acai bowls are about half the size of those in the lower 48 yet the same price. I get that it costs a lot more to ship in ingredients but some of the items were so highly priced. (And I drink my fair share of fresh juice when traveling and in the Circle City).
