"I thought the food here was delicious and a lot less pricey than I had expected. Our waiter let us know they changed the menu to give more flexibility to guests, so it's no longer just a tasting menu, and now there are a la carte options. Everything we ordered was very tasty and fresh, particularly the bread (delicious homemade sourdough). I will say that we surprised when we were seated outside, which is where the majority of tables were, in the middle of winter. Though there were heaters and we were given blankets, we were both freezing cold as we ate our meal. I would recommend this restaurant for sure, but I would strongly recommend going when the weather is warmer."

Iron Gate is great for a cocktail or bite to eat. I've been multiple times and would recommend it to anyone visiting the city, new comers and dc veterans. It's a gem

We were seated outside, in the patio when it was 37 degrees. It was windy and uncomfortable. The heaters were not positioned in a way that adequately warmed our table. And there were tables available inside.

Terrific beer selection and unique cocktails. Nice, homey fireplace perfect for a winter date night. Interesting preparations and delicious dishes that just got better in succession. Great for sharing and trying multiple dishes. The homemade pastas were must-haves as well as the farro salad and the octopus prepared two ways.

"incredibly disappointed! first we have this restaurant for a birthday dinner on other options based on their menu, but once we were there, the menu was not what they have on their website. specific entrees that drag us to aragosta were not at all in the menu. I know the website state menu items can change, they will react with the nationwide lack of products it is difficult to get deliveries, but seriously if their printed menus are up to date their online menu should also be because guess what? there is no printing involved! the height of the wee that was available, again, weeping on the online menu were not on the printed weeping list, mediocre was best still the brandup was extreme. Thirdly, the time we waited for our food was unacceptable and when it arrived, it was cooked cold. the cabernet sauce with the chateabriand tasted no different than a glass shop bought brown engraving the duck, ordered medium rare, but served almost medium-heavy cold. the filet mignon was boiled on request, but hardly warm the Bernaise sauce tasted just like the packed powder mixture that it received in food business. nothing special or unique. next missing the service. our server apologised for the time it needed to get our wein later our meal times, and said that one of their server had to leave unexpectedly due to disease, but there were other support so that our water should have been refilled several times, but we had to ask for fillings they would help supply food before it became cold. all dinge considered the price we paid over $200 was not worth what we have the over 4 star rating is unnoticed. because we were not the only two in our party, we decided not to express our disappointment complaint at that time."
