"Laverna’s is a great little hole in the wall in Tucson. My cousin Lalo, his lady, and his kids suggested the place. Tucked away in an older office area, this not so tiny star is a maze of rooms and spaces. There’s even a living room setup for a man cave dining experience. Cool, right? Careful though, service can get backed up when the place fills so go early or later for breakfast. Anyway, I ordered the ham and cheese with hash-browns. I also asked for a side of biscuits and gravy. Yeah, for a skinny guy, I had a big appetite. The omelette was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were crispy and the biscuits were fresh and flaky. I’ll add that the prices were reasonable. Good place."

Just had a bowl of chili to go. WOW! Just spicy enough to warm the tummy, so some kids may not like it. Has a lot of flavor, maybe a tiny hint of chorizo? I loved it and it was a very hearty lunch for under $8. Lavernas is definitely a hidden gem.

I came here today with my mom and sister. Once again, it was top notch. I've never seen a customer unhappy, probably due to the fast and friendly staff. The manager, Rosa, is out checking on her customers, directing her staff and helping out behind the counter. It's definitely a family vibe and I've never had a bad meal. If you come here, come hungry as the portions are big. Breakfast or lunch check them out.

"We visited Istanbul Mediterranean Cuisine Bar, 2945 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson AZ 85716 in March 2022. A host greeted us and sat us right away. Food: I had never been there before and I ordered the Doner Wrap that is 80% beef and 20% lamb. The wrap was huge and I could only eat half. It was served with tzatziki sauce, which was very good, but I did not end up putting it on the sandwich since the meat was so moist and flavorful. The sandwich came with a choice of two of sides of; rice, salad or fries. I got the fries and salad. The fries seemed like they were just cooked and the salad was fresh and vibrant with a vinaigrette dressing on it. I would recommend this sandwich plate. My husband ordered the spicy chicken pita that he like very much. He said the pita bread was delicious, soft and seemed freshly made. The chicken was tossed in a sauce and also came with a side of sauce that was quite spicy hot. We also ordered baclava and the chicken lemon soup to go and both were very good. Service: The service was very good and prompt. They served the food quickly. We were in and out within 45 minutes, which is what we like. We did not feel rushed at all. Funny, I asked my husband to request more napkins and the next thing I knew was the waiter brought a stack of napkins. I asked my husband if he had signaled to the waiter, but he said he did not. So apparently, they can read minds there! The layout of the restaurant is larger booths on the right side with tables down the middle and the bar, with stools on the left. There was a part at the back that had a sign “Only for large parties” with multiple tables. Not a big restaurant. The place was very clean and the noise level was low. Parking: There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant, but additional street parking that had plenty of spaces available. The atmosphere felt more adult focused with the bar and there was not any children. The cost was very reasonable I would highly recommend going and we will return."
