"I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I were thrilled to see a Japanese restaurant in NE, but despite the great reviews and ambience we left the restaurant completely disappointed with our experience. Overall, the food was overpriced, bland and dry. So, in fact, my husband and I couldn't even finish the meal and left to have a second dinner somewhere else immediately. It was the worst $100 we've ever spent on a meal in DC. When trying over 15 spits, the only taste that came through was burned coal. I hope our experience was isolated (because I would love more restaurants in the area), but we will never be back again."

First time there. Ate pretty well. Loved everything I tried. I also loved the concept of the sake bar with instant ramen and anime downstairs.

This property has a bad habit of installing restaurants that drain your pocketbook and still leave you hungry. The food can be exquisite, no doubt, but at the end of the day, it's still mostly chicken parts on skewers and this spot is well penetrated into NE DC; something more affordable and filling would be appreciated.

"incredibly disappointed! first we have this restaurant for a birthday dinner on other options based on their menu, but once we were there, the menu was not what they have on their website. specific entrees that drag us to aragosta were not at all in the menu. I know the website state menu items can change, they will react with the nationwide lack of products it is difficult to get deliveries, but seriously if their printed menus are up to date their online menu should also be because guess what? there is no printing involved! the height of the wee that was available, again, weeping on the online menu were not on the printed weeping list, mediocre was best still the brandup was extreme. Thirdly, the time we waited for our food was unacceptable and when it arrived, it was cooked cold. the cabernet sauce with the chateabriand tasted no different than a glass shop bought brown engraving the duck, ordered medium rare, but served almost medium-heavy cold. the filet mignon was boiled on request, but hardly warm the Bernaise sauce tasted just like the packed powder mixture that it received in food business. nothing special or unique. next missing the service. our server apologised for the time it needed to get our wein later our meal times, and said that one of their server had to leave unexpectedly due to disease, but there were other support so that our water should have been refilled several times, but we had to ask for fillings they would help supply food before it became cold. all dinge considered the price we paid over $200 was not worth what we have the over 4 star rating is unnoticed. because we were not the only two in our party, we decided not to express our disappointment complaint at that time."
