"The food was meh They don’t have things listed on the menu online as they seem to like to change often. The day we went they didn’t have some items on the menu. The burger was okay.. was missing condiments and cheese that was requested. The ‘Everglades’ fries are nothing special pretty bland actually. Overall for the lack of items, blandness and cost, there are other places to try. Just ones opinion and I wouldn’t be returning or recommending the Diving Pelican."

"It's a homey diner in Everglade City with everything you would expect. Gator tots, frog legs, brewskies, and a really tasty 2 pattie burger with fresh fries ?. The staff was exceptional, friendly, and it all came at an extremely reasonable price. Yes, you should stop by."

"You know, I come from Fort Lauderdale and you would think in a city that big, someone would know how to make a decent pizza. This is the first time in forever that I've had what tastes like a real pizza. Garlic, cheesy, crispy crust and not too oily! The people there are incredibly friendly and quick. Can't beat the prices. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20"

"My friend and I came down for a Everglades adventure, and were looking forward to staying at the rod and gun. When we arrived, we couldn't find anyone in the hotel so we found someone in the kitchen and they helped us out. We were served an absolutely delicious fish, platter lunch and we each had two beers. It was great until we saw the bill was $140. Oh well, we're on vacation. We then got our keys from a really nice young lady who said we should wait an hour or so before our room was made up we said we would not be back till about 8 PM so that was fine. When we arrived to our room, the room had not been made up and we ended up having to stay in the room, on top of someone else's mess. There was no one to be found in the hotel to give us another room or service the current one. And no one answered the phone. The next day, when we describe our troubles from the night before, the same young lady named Taylor at the desk was very apologetic. Said we should have left a message, and she would have come and cleaned it, but agreed to give us our money back. We know people make mistakes sometimes and we were happy with the resolution. Later that day we got a call from the manager, some man, who went on to curse at us over the phone, saying they lost $168 and for us to never come back to their hotel. Don't worry, we won't."
