"Went to Layla’s because they had Paella as a special for Father’s Day weekend. Had never been there, but was going to be in the area and the lure of Paella was too much to resist. Arrived between lunch and dinner and had the place to ourselves (me, wife and MIL), picked a table and perused the menu…I already knew my entree, but needed an appetizer. I opted for Boudin balls, wife chose the mushroom meatballs. My mother-in-law and I both chose the Paella, wife selected the Mojo shrimp. Came upon this small family owned restaurant with just 8 tables. We had the Ecuadorian and BBQ Cajun Shrimp Dish which was phenomenal. They don’t serve alcoholic beverages but the owner sent us to get a bottle of wine from a local wine shop down the street. It added to our great experience. We enjoyed talking to them and we will definitely be back before the end of our trip.

A small very busy place but so homey and fabulously delish food! The son, mom and dad are the backbone of this restaurant both mom and son out front while dad cooks. Mostly cuban with some variations. 3 of us got sandwiches while I got the chicken mine came w/ a ton of rice and beans, which to me was too much and not very tasty. I had the french onion soup, which the table next to us had and looked devine. It was quite salty (unusually so said the next table who are regulars). Its BYOB so good to know we didn't but next time! The bread must be homemade cuban style it was really hearty and good. Fairly priced. Our table and two other tables shared ethnic stories about food from other location...
