"Around The Clock Restaurant Bakery serves Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, but here, breakfast is the busiest meal of the day. This is a typical American Diner/Coffee Shop, with a lively Coffee Shop vibe, like so many other Greek owned Coffee Shops that used to dot Chicago. That means that places like this usually have a few Greek dishes scattered throughout the menu, like flaky Spanakopita spinach feta cheese pie), creamy-chicken-lemon rice soup they don 't call it Avgolemono here), Souvlaki a Greek pork kabob in pita, but here it 's chicken), roasted or grilled lamb but no lamb here unless it 's a special), Gyros in the case here, it 's pre-sliced and packaged, not on a spool), and of course, a big Greek Salad with oregano, anchovies, feta, olives. But Around The Clock Restaurant does seem to have some Greek dishes available, but not many, unless they are off the menu for regulars who are 'in-the-know '. My guess is that the new kitchen staff who took over from the old owners simply don 't know how to cook Greek food anymore. Breakfast items crowd at least four pages of the menu here, with eggs any style, including Benedicts, Omelets, and Skillets. Waffles are also served, as well as Pancakes, thick French Toast, and one of my favorites, 3 thin Crepes for 8.95. And if you arrive early enough to get their Southern Sausage Gravy they stop making it at 1:00 PM and it 's sells out quickly), you can get a gravy smothered Country Fried Steak, either Beef or Chicken $1 replaces your toast with a pancake). Also, some breakfasts Do Offer a slight Greek element, like Gyros meat added to your omelet or eggs. But the most special breakfast items here are the fresh pastries, breads, muffins, all baked on site. Yum. Cakes, Pies, and Cookies are baked here as well, but alas, no Baklava. Lunch here is also typical diner food, offering Burgers, Sandwiches, Soups the French Onion is good), Salads, and even a classic Retro Monte Carlo. The seafood offerings are Salmon, Catfish, Shrimp Cod. There 's also Greek Souvlaki, Fried Chicken, Hot Open-Faced Turkey or Beef sandwiches, Steaks, Spaghetti, and other items that lean more towards Mexican food than Greek about 6 to 10 items), with two Asian inspired dishes Chinese Chicken Salad Chop Suey), and they even offer Jambalaya, sort of an odd outlier here. My favorite lunch at Around The Clock is their Friday, Saturday, Sunday Prime Rib Special. It is under 25.00 and comes with fresh bread butter, soup or salad, and two sides. But you have to like your prime rib cooked to medium, because I have yet to see a slice that 's even close to rare. Dinner has pretty much the same menu as lunch. However what I didn 't mention is that Round the Clock has a full Fountain service, with pies a la mode, ice cream sodas, plus splits and sundaes. One last Note is that this is in no way a cheap place. Onion Soup is just under 6.00, Burgers are just shy of 13.00, Broiled Cod is just under 17.00, Fish Tacos are a bit under 18.00, and decent steaks here are around 23 dollars. However, there is a kids menu, and seniors get 10% off if you ask for it. Around The Clock Restaurant Bakery is open weekdays from 7AM to 10PM, and weekends Sat Sun) from 6AM to Midnight. "We chose 1776 for a special celebratory dinner. We arrived at the reservation time and were seated immediately. Service was mixed wait staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive, but food was slow out of the kitchen. Steak knives were not provided when our filets were served and had to be requested. During dessert and coffee, our waiter told us that we would be asked to give up our table if the next party shows up on time. Fortunately this didn't become an incident. Regarding the food, the peach prosciutto fresh mozzarella flatbread appetizer was delicious, but unfortunately our 8 oz filets, requested medium rare, were served medium to medium well very disappointing. The s'mores dessert was good but our cappuccinos with dessert were terrible. I was surprised that a manager or chef didn't come to our table to address the issue with the improperly cooked filets. A classier restaurant would have found a way to make it right, especially when it was a problem with both entries. Bottom Line: We are unlikely to drive an hour and spend $200 at this establishment in the future. Just not good enough!"

"Under the new ownership of this establishment, the revisions they made is a huge upgrade in comparison with the prior proprietor. Moreover, in all honesty the current menu is really good and one can tell they care about what their place serves since all menu items seem to be handled with passion in conjunction with care , considering their made-to-order vision that completely works on all facets . Therefore, I normally order carry out from here but, I dined in yesterday and this place doesn’t disappoint since the service was great! Subsequently, I normally order the Monte Carlo sandwich which is very delicious but, this time I ordered their patty melt which the burger was very tasty and the fries were good just as well. Plus, you also get various choices with regards to the sides they offer; and to top it off a choice of soup or salad . Thus, I decided to try the side salad which was made up of a fresh spring mix that I prefer. Consequently, the standout was their house-made dressing dubbed as the cilantro lime vinaigrette . It was so tasty that I was positively ranting about it with the server and the owner where I told them they should bottle it where I would definitely purchase a case of that delicious loveliness in a NY minute! However, the only negative pertaining to my patty melt that it was overcooked but still good . Overall, my dining experience was a definite plus where even the owner visited my table and she was very hospitable. Furthermore , I work in the restaurant industry in Chicago, and to be quite honest , there is only one other place a breakfast joint located on Williams St. in the downtown area of Crystal Lake that care what they present since they embody high-tier quality. Needless to indicate their prices are economically affordable unlike any of the restaurants that is located near the Crystal Lake Metra Station. In other words ,the current owners of Cafe Olympic are very in tune with concocting a very eclectic fresh ingredient menu, which is why this place stands out among their competitors. Thank you Cafe Olympic , and I will be definitely returning."

"Tasty Food Expansive MenuSet just off busy Randall Rd., you can satisfy your Mexican food taste buds at this eatery. There is an outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant and numerous booths and tables in the cozy dining room. We stopped in for lunch where complimentary chips and salsas are quickly brought to the table. They do not have a Lunch Menu or Lunch Specials, it's just the Dinner Menu. My wife had the Grilled Shrimp Salad $19.99) and I had the Ala Carte Burrito $10.99). Atop a bed of fresh mixed greens sat at least 15 tasty grilled shrimp with pico de gallo with refreshing pineapple and sliced avocado. A very unique and flavorful blended dressing of lime juice, cilantro and grilled jalapenos was on the side. As opposed to a regular burrito meal, the Ala Carte Burrito is not served with rice and beans. I chose chorizo as my protein from many options. The usual cheese, beans, lettuce, rice, tomato and sour cream join the chorizo in a large flour tortilla. I asked for a hot sauce and out came a container of a spicier salsa that worked perfectly. Our server, Julian, was very friendly and efficient and checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. They do have a full bar with numerous signature cocktails. We were happy with our visit, I think you will be too."
